This is a very unfortunate teaching. Those who believe it wait in their graves and lose track of time, but they can be rescued if someone prays for them.

Flesh stays in the grave, spirit goes to be with Christ. When Christ comes again the Christian flesh that is in the grave rises first and is remade for the spirit who will merge spirit to flesh in a new immortal body.
