It keeps those indulgences coming in....
Sleep easy, my friend.
I am glad that San Gennaro's blood liquified, Italy's had enough troubles for awhile.
The real miracle would be if you could look at the people of Naples and see their Christianity spilling out into the world. If God has been showing them something remarkable and encouraging time after time over the centuries, I would hope it had left an impression.
I guess I’m trying to say that where there are miracles, there should follow real conversions of heart. I think my mom noticed a real sense of being among faithful, good, local people when she went to Lourdes.
Is this also true in Naples?
Today is also the feast day of Our Lady of LaSalette.
Our Lady of La Salette
Date: 19 September 1846
Place: La Salette, France
Visionary: Melanie Calvat and Maximin Giraud
Melanie Calvat and Maximin Giraud were to children from Corps, France, near the town of Grenoble in the southeastern part of France. When Melanie was 14, and Maximin was 11, they were watching cattle in a pasture when they saw a globe of light that “opened” to reveal a most beautiful woman, clad in long dress and apron, with a shawl that crossed in front and tied in back. Around her neck was a Crucifix that depicted the instruments of the Passion, and on her head were a cap and roses. She sat on a rock with her face in her hands weeping....

What is the point of this?
I love the Catholic faith; there’s ALWAYS a reason to rejoice! The daily Mass alone [even without dried blood turning to liquid] is a profound miracle; I’m always in awe. Thanks for posting; what a great crowd!
So why was his blood kept in the first place?
I have a bid on Ebay for a piece of the True Cross. Prester John is finally parting with it and has it up for auction.

Oh, good grief.
Big deal. My blood stays liquefied all the time.
What kind of cultic spiritualism is this? It ain’t Christianity for certain (no graven images for one thing).
But the most stupendous miracle, and that which is greatly celebrated in the church, is the liquefying and boiling up of this blessed martyrs blood whenever the vials are brought in sight of his head.
Do you guys really have this fella's head laying around in one of your churches??? Why would you cut off someone's head and save it??? And then the dead head and the blood 'know' when they are in proximity to each other???
I have to wonder what inspired someone to collect this guy's blood and head after he died in the first place...And at some time apparently after the saved blood was witnessed liquifying it was put into an ornate vial to be viewed...
Does the mouth move on the head as well???
Catholics seem to be the most gullible, superstitious crowd I've ever seen...When the anti-Christ shows up he's going to love you guys...A couple of miracles and you'll be hooked...You'll be eating out of his hand...

This makes me sad.
Not the miracle, but the comments of many who don’t know what they say.
**The Blood of Saint Januarius liquefied this year.**
Which can only mean one thing: it will be a long cold winter.
