:: nothing better to do than to fiddle around with peoples beliefs for your own amusement ::
It keeps those indulgences coming in....
Channeling Bill Maher there?
What do you blame the most? The lying video cameras?
BTW: Indulgences don’t “come in.” They are given out.
And nobody ever pays a penny for an indulgence.
So what are you talking about?
One reader reported that a priest had expressed doubt in the miracle, another reader responded:
So whose blood does he think it is, and how would that make it less miraculous that the blood looks new after centuries? Sheesh, people, if youre going to be a skeptic, do it right.More to the point, if one doesnt have anything edifying to say, and one doesnt have any proof or in-depth knowledge as an authority or scholar on the question, why would you bring it up and be skeptical in public, as a priest? Do you really have nothing better to do than to fiddle around with peoples beliefs for your own amusement, or are you just taking out your own doubts on other people? Ive said some things to vulnerable people that Ive regretted later, but at least I didnt say it as a representative of Jesus Christ Himself.

OK, folks...
my response RE: indulgences was directed to the quoted “fiddle around people’s belief’s for your own amusement” statement.
Work backwards from there...
Don’t let me think that y’all are just “knee-jerking” on behalf of your tradition.
