That's great Resty!
Typical mormon psychological abuse...."Recognize" a real problem with the church and then blame that problem on the member's lack of faith.
The Cult of Guilt strikes again....Bring them in with feigned kindness under the false pretense of "understanding" so it's easier to stab us in the back.
He's pretty open with all of JS’s flaws and humanity. What did you think of it? And why would you think he would be disavowed by the Church, especially after reading his book and everything the church is doing to support him and the work he is doing?
I first thought it may have been a mis-print for SNUbbing; then decided - heck; look it up just in case.
We’ve both learned something new!

t the ‘net wunnerful!! ;^)
Amen, Brother!
NIV Titus 1:13-16
13. This testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith
14. and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of those who reject the truth.
15. To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.
16. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
NIV 2 Peter 2:1-3
2. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
3. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
3. Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.
4. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
What I said was....
"Listen to this 'teacher' who fills young minds full of mush with arrogance and pride."
(That IS the one YOU referenced on your homepage; RIGHT?)
The wifey is planning vacation as we type!
In ZION NP?
Wonderful!
Zion it is. How come they got to name it?
What, in your opinion, is the reason the church is supporting him?
“Listen to this ‘teacher’ who fills young minds full of mush with arrogance and pride.”
As LDS the one filling my mind is the Holy Spirit teachers can lead but the drinking is in the Spirit of the Lord.
Those who have a desire to learn and know the things of the Lord are the ones who received a witness of the Holy Ghost
When that occurs it has nothing to do with how the world preceives so arrogance and pride has no presents.
Each LDS is responsible for the all their action and knowledge that they gain in this life.
Like the Ten Virgins and the oil in their lamps, it can not be bought at your local gas station or school of higher learning.
So when this statement is made
“We really aren’t obligated to answer everyone’s questions...”
“You already know MORE about God and Christ and the plan of salvation than any who would ATTACK you.”
It is all the time spent one on one with the Lord in study and prayer.
The LDS lessons have always been on those counsel in the Bible
COME FOLLOW ME
Matt. 16: 24
24 ¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow dme.
Matt. 19: 21
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Mark 8: 34
34 ¶ And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mark 10: 21
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
Luke 9: 23
23 ¶ And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his across daily, and bfollow me.
Luke 18: 22
22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the apoor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
John 21: 22
22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he atarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.
*****
and also Jesus said LEARN OF ME
Matt. 9: 13
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Matt. 11: 29
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
John 6: 45
45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
That's because they can't.
They might BELIEVE that they know more about stuff; but they find out real quick they were fooled by the smooth talking professor when a knowledgable Christian starts asking them questions.

We really aren't obligated to answer everyone's fomenter question!:)
Thank you for admitting that the LDS Organization® does NOT have all the answers.
Have a great day with your friends and associates.

About a rant from a leader who is PREACHING "arrogance and pride".
And from someone who consistently brags that the LDS is "God's church".
LOL!

Please don't imply, mind read or put words in my mouth that are not there greyfoxx39

There are children of God who have a desire to learn and know the things of the Lord.
Yes I was one of the mainstream who was seeking for 18 years and found the things which are spoken in the Bible.
I am sure there will be more seekers as they awake and see many things which were written in the scriptures are not present nor being practiced today and want to know why!

You are welcome and those who have a sincere desire will receive answers.
Sadly the spirit of the fomenter in that state is incapable of receiving
Why not, he is a renounced academic scholar teaching in one of the most prestigious universities in the world, and sharing incredibly insightful information about the very real, fallible, human being that Joseph Smith was, as all prophets throughout time have been. Only one person was ever perfect, and he lived 2000 years ago, yet lives today!
You folks think he will be excommunicated for sharing that stuff, quite the contrary.
They found and farmed it, outside of Native Americans who had their own name for it.
Actually, when it was first made a national monument, the US Government called it by it's Indian name, Mukuntuweap National Park.
The Government later changed it to Zion National Park.
Perfect name, it's a biblical word meaning a place of peace and refuge or sanctuary.
Would you rather it be Mukuntuweap?
