Exactly!
This was a hobby for Rush. He didn't need the aggravation and with this latest blowup, I don't blame him for resigning. ESPN hired Rush to give his opinions, not to be politically correct. He gave his opinion and the liberal powers that be in America didn't like it. Rush saw the handwriting on the wall and decided, this was not worth his time and effort.

It is time for him to do a blitz on the left and how some of them should have been fired.

I'm sad he didn't put up a fight, but I have to say I'm selfishy glad he resigned. It was just taking to much time away from his show. Too many days away and off-topic sports.

This is probably best. Limbaugh doesn't need a long drawn out distraction about this garbage in the media.

He didn't even put up a fight!I don't know...These are very deep waters and who knows what went on behind closed door. The RATS are losing everything and have begun to play very, very dirty.
Rush may give the impression of blow it off as no big deal, but like I said who knows what went on behind closed doors?

Yep, a pile of character assassination from the Clinton-friendly Nat'l Enquirer. I'll believe it when I see good evidence.
Until then, it's a vicious smear.
One thread pulled tonight on the subject, as far as I know.

If this had been Spike Lee squawking about some white player, nothing would have been said.

So sad. I think of all the sports commentators before who got sacked. I truly believe Rush's comments were directed at the media, but he never should have "gone there." Do you know what I mean? It was like he was just asking for trouble. But then, Rush is a political guy.
Who else got sacked because of comments? Well, the "Jimmy the Greek" by talking about the slave owners breeding their slaves and that is why blacks are good athletes. Howard Cosell used that "look at that little monkey go!" comment. Both of those were much worse than what Rush said.
But---just like Dr Larua, Rush got targeted and hurt.
And the Liberals sit there and warn everyone about "Right Wing Media" and want the "Fairness Doctrine" to protect us from it.
Sure.

Bingo. It would have been good for him to face this down so that this type of effort would not succede in the future, but he may not have had a choice. I suspect it was resign or else.
To: lara
I really wish Rush would have hung in thereIt sounds like you think he had a choice?
To: icwhatudo
You know, I want to make a lot of money.
(It would be very nice to see someone GOOD make a lot of money without destroying himself in the process, though. I'm discouraged and sad, so...I can't come up with any examples of someone who made it...and kept it made.)

I don't see how or why you would Freep ESPN. Limbaugh resigned. Whatever the circumstances behind it, what are you going to go after ESPN for? Not coercing Limbaugh to stay?>
