We get the government we deserve. Listening to the questions posed (and selected by the organizers), hearing the enthusiastic responses of the audience to demagogic statements of the Greenie and the Dixie Chicks woman, I say we've already got the government we deserve. Pathetic. Sad but True!

"I'll trust Arnold's fiscal conservatism.... That's the bottom line for me. I agree totally.
Arnold is talking, post-debate. He complimented Tom McClintock. Maybe they can work something out between them. The Republicans in CA can use both of them. AS LONG AS THE PUBBIES WIN.

Those are pretty good numbers for McClintock.
The debate on form, content and substance (1-5):
McClintock = 4.00
Schwarzenegger = 3.27
Bustamonte = 2.90
Huffington = 2.80
Camejo = 2.72

Calling Huffington a good debater shows the Fox panel's opinions are worthless -- she is an airhead!

You've just got a nasty, cynical, unattractive sense of humor. Your sense of humor is not going to attrack votes for Arnold, but only serve to tick off those who prefer McClintock to Arnold. Oh goodie, another McClintock/Bustamante voter.

I expect Arnold's embrace of Texas to be turned into attack ads by Grayout... I agree...this was the one area Arnold strayed into tonight that both surprised me and distressed me, from a tactical standpoint. Why he did this, I can't imagine. That will play well on this forum, but we must remember that a sizable portion of Arnold's votes come from people for whom this forum would be anethema. Texas won't play any better in California than California (or New York) would play in Texas.

Huffington won this thing, hands down. Way to go, Arianna!

McClintock can be President someday. While McClintock did very well tonight, and is the most qualified, there is NO WAY he is going to become a serious presidential candidate without developing more personality and a more endearing presense. He is a smart and serious man, but he gets no points for being a likeable figure, which is what one needs to get elected nationwide.
Bush was elected because those in the middle liked him and trusted him more than Gore. Being smart and competent is not enough to become president.

This is the first time I have been impressed with McClintock, he seemed to finally remember what the recall is all about.
Arnold did well and he had some specifics and the sparring with Arianna won't cost him, who could tolerate her. Even her own family has moved out.
To: BlueNgold
Arnold just extended Tom the olive branch with a job attached ... Yes, I just heard that, too. "Tom McClintock and I will make a great team in Sacramento." - Arnold

Ariana's a good debator, she adds polish, she was president of the Cambridge union debate society Arianna was insulting, snide, and wouldn't stay on topic. If that's a "good debater", heaven help us. She looked like a complete idiot.
If it were just her vs Bustamente or Camejo, I'd vote against her. Even Snoozin' Cruz or the Green-go would be better. She's really a nasty person.

**Winner: Arnold is a shoo in, as Tom is unelectable, and will do the right thing when Arnie makes him the right political offer.
Bet on it... **

Both Arnold and Tom performed well. How about knocking off the personal insults in the interest of civility? You are right. Tom demonstrated his cool mastery of policy, and Arnold showed charisma. They'd make a great Ops/Sales management team, because California is going to need both in the top office.
Regarding your question regarding the statement by H. Ross, I don't recall if he said it in the debate or on one of his "Larry, may I get a word in please" CNN interviews. But it's a great line "I'm the only one running who's ever signed the front side of a paycheck."
To: Anybody
Arnold in 'spin room' - California only gets 77 cents from the federal gov't for each dollar sent to Washington -- I'm going to demand more.
Sorry, Arnie, that 23 cents is the price of a bloated federal bureacracy. Take a lesson.

Why is arnold the only one being interviewed now? where are the other candidates? This is an opportunity that they are missing. (not that we want to see some of them)
