They can't "figure out" the Bible anyway...without the Holy Spirit giving them insight.
Don't worry, whether they read it or not, God will find a way to save his elect.

Here is were we need to part. Most of us wouldn't be here if it wasn't for immigration. Illegal immigration is different. All of us has immigrant blood in us, except true native americans!

Read his own words. They are not protected by the 1st Amendment. They are only protected by the Judeo-Christian God.
Look, I'm not here to make up positions to ascribe to Roy Moore. I'm relying on the man's own words. I'm probably the only poster here who actually sat down and read his testimony. When I say he disagrees with that proposition, it is because he has said so.

May I ask, what gave you the clue that there wasn't a God? I still don't understand why, if man "evolved" from monkeys or apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes? They should be man by now, right?

Yep, then Christ came and fullfilled the law. The New Testament Christian does not need to sacrifice animals because Christ was the sacrifice. Yep, and the Old Covenant(Covenant of Law) passed away, and we entered the Covenant of Grace. The laws handed down to and for the Isrealites, and there adherence to them, were no longer "the way to heaven". Thus, the Ten Commandments, which were the LAW OF THE ISRAELITES, were no longer law. And nowhere did Christ ever indicate that the Ten Commandmenst were meant to be the laws of earthy governments.

Yes that is irony.
We are accumulating irony at such a rate that we will be like the friggin French in another generation or two.

They can't "figure out" the Bible anyway...without the Holy Spirit giving them insight. Let me know when you figure it out. I never met anyone yet, in or out of the clergy who claims to have.
Don't worry, whether they read it or not, God will find a way to save his elect.
So we should discourage them from reading it? Gideon people disagree.

"Was the nation governed, led or inspired by Christians, Christian ethics or the Ten Commandments before the Emancipation Proclamation?" There would have been no Emancipation Proclamation had it not been for the Ten Commandments.
Neither would Abraham Lincoln have stood idly by and watched the Judicial Branch of goverment throw away the founding precepts of America.

Now, would you consider it a similar violation if he put up a copy of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech... Funny you should mention that - he refused that one too.
Does he have to accept every request for a display that someone wants to put up, no matter how irrelevant it is to the historical foundation of the country's laws?
Alas, we've wandered into hypothetical-land now. When his avowed intention is to celebrate his religious beliefs about what he sees as the moral foundation of the law, there's really no need to discuss things like the historical foundation of the law. Nevertheless, if he had wanted a display about the historical foundation of the law, he could easily do what has been done at the Supreme Court building, and display a variety of lawgivers from the ages, both secular and religious.

You may ask. But this thread is not about that subject. You can click on my name and go look at other messages from me. I have explained my atheism before.

Atheists should not try and figure the bible out,Which of course would preclude them from becoming believers.
Good one, Protagoras!! I think many here are from the "I'll tell you what the Bible means, and you'll like it" school.
To: lugsoul
Read his own words. They are not protected by the 1st Amendment. They are only protected by the Judeo-Christian God.You're completely misreading his words. His position is this: God grants rights. The Consitution protects them. That's perfectly in line with the views of the Founders.

The precedences are with out merit if there wasn't any statute of law...I never said they had merit. That would be a matter of opinion.
Congress cannot make any law repecting any religion, nor stoping any free exercize of it...
Which has nothing to do with having the ten commandments in a court building. What is the purpose of it anyway?

"Immigration has ruined this great country."
At what point did this begin? Or do you contend it should still be a land of native tribes?
"
I think he means all the immigrants that came after his relatives immigrated.
