Granholm (Mich. gov.) said that the water is pressurized thru the pipes electrically, and consequently, no power = no water. Here's a question .. how have these people dealt with power outages in the past????
I realize this is a big one .. but it's not like this is the FIRST time this country has had the power go out.
2 years ago my area lost power for 12 hours .. we used the grill to cook on and only flushed the tolets when needed to and if we needed water .. we boiled it

They said about 30 minutes ago that Detroit wouldnt have power tommorrow.

Three Mile Island? Oh man, that's all we need, if some nuclear plant scram triggered this, the Dems are going to go crazy. Maybe that's why Hillary has hit all the talk shows tonight, maybe she knows the real cause. Gov Ed Rendel from PA was on MSNBC and said that story is False

Hey Dolphy,
I remember when that happened to you!! Some of us are beginning to think the Dims are at the bottom of all this. MM has the most fleshed out explanation of their RATTINESS at the moment.

Hey...its not PA's fault...certainly not TMI or Beaver Valley...power on in Pittsburgh and Philly. Looks like they are just pointing fingers all around and seeing what sticks...

I guess I disagree. President Bush has never been into "fluff" and he never will be. He did the right thing - it's the others that did the wrong thing. And why should he have cancelled the fund raiser? There was nothing more he could do and those people were all gathered to see him. He flew to CA to see them and there was no reason for him to cancel. Too bad the big terrorist catch was blown off all the cable shows. It was an important catch.

left me without power in Western Michigan for days last winterThat's one reason we don't need silly leaders like Hillary. Power goes out on people all the time all over the place. In rural areas, it can be out for several days and no big deal. I'm more surprised it doesn't go out more often than it does in big cities ----but whimpering Hillary is about to panic about one little power out.

That's damned bad news. Detroit gets too hot in too many ways. No wonder the MI gov looked to be close to tears.

Definitely not a problem from PA. Power's nice and steady in Philly.

have just held up a sign that said, "BUSH KNEW"... Oh, it's coming. I just looked over in Nutsville (LibertyForum) to see if they were blaming the Jooos yet. And sure enough, the very first headline:

Your fast. I also heard a report of one convience store that sold someone a six pack of bottled water for $175. Who the hell would pay $175 for water after only 7 hours?.......jeeze.

You aren't the only one with such suspicisions. Remember how Hillary has over several months been vaguely talking about how we aren't putting enough money in domestic defense/preparation(though never giving specifics). Remember how many have speculated that they were positioning to be able to quickly react with blame at the next terror attack.
I still think it was a series of errors, and Hillary is just taking advantage of the situation, since this may be the closest to a terror attack on NYC she will see. But it is truly sad that I can't immediately rule out political sabotage. Luckily, its a lot harder to pull off something like this without getting caught than it is to preposition pebbles on a beach in Normandy.

The problem was that the operators made a big mistake instead of following proper procedures, calling in power from elsewhere in the system, which caused a problematic surge/imbalance. It all happened in 9 seconds.Operators made big mistakes? BULL! No human operaator could react in 9 seconds. It was all automatic and it worked like it was supposed to.

I realize this is a big one .. but it's not like this is the FIRST time this country has had the power go out.Great point. We lost power, in Grand Rapids, over 100,000 people, for several days in the dead of winter and Granholm never felt compelled to address the state. But when Detroit or Benton Harbor (recent riots in a very small city) Jenny is all over it.
