I realize this is a big one .. but it's not like this is the FIRST time this country has had the power go out.

Great point. We lost power, in Grand Rapids, over 100,000 people, for several days in the dead of winter and Granholm never felt compelled to address the state. But when Detroit or Benton Harbor (recent riots in a very small city) Jenny is all over it.

Yup, it's the whole Red Zone/Blue Zone thing. Jenny knows that most of us in western Michigan didn't pull the lever for her.
