Government needs to stay the hell out of the bedroom That's not exactly an earth-shattering concept.
It pains me to see how many people on this thread *think* they are for smaller Govt but disagree with the ruling.

The Bill of Rights overrules democracy in favor of individual rights. Libertarians support this concept, which you seem to have a problem with. The 'individual rights' that are listed in the Bill of Rights were voted on at one time, dead. They can be changed by...voting. If you believe that 'individual rights' are whatever you believe them to be, then that's another discussion entirely.
The thing that gives us 'individual rights' was voted on at one time.

"They said it's not the state's business to categorize people in these ways," he said. A broad hint in advocacy of homo "marriage"

I'm with Laz on this one. Libertarians are the root of all Evil. We are the reason Lucifer fell from grace. I, personally, pushed him.You understate the evil that is libertarianism.
Libertarians cause rust.

a decision that will have widespread effect on issues of personal privacy, as well as gay rights. Told ya. It will be seen as a gay rights issue when it isn't. Obviously, het couples in Texas only like the missionary position. /sarcasm

It did. It wasn't on equal protection basis. That's what surprises me. I can understand the logic that if one can consent to anal sex, it should not matter whther they are male or female. Equal Protection.
The Right to Privacy argument seems to me to be a bit off the mark, since the state can and does enforce all sorts of laws regarding sexual activities that are done "in private". I wonder how explicit the opinion was about explaining the limits.

It pains me to see how many people on this thread *think* they are for smaller Govt but disagree with the ruling. The truth is exactly the opposite. Look at the 'health care costs' in the city of Sin Freaksicko. Much of the public health costs in that city are driven by gays. It's a public health issue.

The thing that gives us 'individual rights' was voted on at one time. Our rights come from a scrap of paper?
And our rights are granted by the state?
By vote?
And they can be voted away?

When did the Bill of Rights change to give this protection to homosexuals and deny the state the power to make this law? Don't bother saying the Bill of Rights or any part of the Constitution means whatever you say. Your opinion is worthless.
The authors and ratifiers of the Constitution and it's amendments are only held in contempt by a few of you on this forum.

If you believe that 'individual rights' are whatever you believe them to be, then that's another discussion entirely. The thing that gives us 'individual rights' was voted on at one time. The Bill of Rights and the Federalist Papers explicitly state that the enumeration of Rights in the Constitution by no means limits the number of Rights we have. Also, they cannot be changed by "voting". They can only be changed by a Constitutional Convention (and the next one of those is going to be a terrifying event. The Left no longer cares about propriety, and will go after everything).

SC to usurp the powers constitutionally delegated to the legislature and impose its morality on us. In the same way 'doing nothing' is actually 'doing something', being 'neutral to morality' is actually 'not being neutral to morality'. Let paganism ring.

Oh, certainly our rights come from "reason."
The big question is: WHAT MAN'S "reason"?
To: Paradox
I wonder if he has been sodomizing the exhaust pipe...Libertarians do that. They are really bad people.
