FReepers: Now's the time. Stand up and be counted. The C-in-C needs our help…

URGENT: The Commander-in-Chief needs our help. Our brave military needs our support. Heck, America needs our leadership.
Were in a very real, potentially very hot war not of our choosing, but one that each one of us has a responsibility to help win. We on the center-Right to Right side of the political spectrum cannot afford to cede the public relations aspects of this war to the Left and to the terrorists and tyrants the Leftists coddle with their stupid protests. Unlike the 1960s, if we sit back and dont respond to the Left, this time we may very well sign our own death warrants and those of our children and grandchildren. We simply cannot let the enemy win.
Yesterday, Hollywood Leftist mouthpiece, Mike Farrell, was on the Sean Hannity radio program. In response to a caller who tried her best to tell him off, he issued a challenge. In his most condescending, scornful, smug manner, he essentially told her to go out and organize her own protests if she didnt like what he and his fellow travelers were doing.
OK! Fine. For the last several days Ive been having a little debate with myself as to whether or not to try to start what I would call the "Six Little Words" campaign. Finally decided that, instead of "grumbling in my beer" about the likes of Mr. Farrell, or taking my anger out on the family and dogs, I decided hes right. Its time to take up Farrells challenge. Perhaps he unwittingly awoke a sleeping giant: Americans everywhere who oppose the Lefts agenda. Or perhaps not. We shall see.
We on the Right tend not to go out in the streets and protest. But can we at least rouse ourselves to do something very easy, very inexpensive, and very quick to make OUR voices heard? How, you ask? With "Six Little Words" that just may help save our civilization.
Its time for you, and I, and everyone who understands the danger, to stand up and be counted. Its time to see what we're really made of after all, if the hijackings and anthrax atrocities of Sept. and Oct. 2001, and the sniper attacks last year, have taught us anything, it is that we are all on the front lines in this war.
Pick up a pen or pencil, take a piece of paper and write: IRAQ: I SUPPORT YOU, MR. PRESIDENT. Put the paper in an envelope, seal it, slap a stamp on it, and mail it to:
President George W. Bush
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
DO NOT USE EMAIL TO CONTACT THE WHITE HOUSE. Handwritten letters are still the most effective way to contact our elected officials. Volume emails (spam) just pile up and often are deleted without being read. There is still no substitute for millions of pieces of mail arriving at the Presidential offices.
Be sure to send the letters to the WHITE HOUSE, not Congress. Congress is out of this now, since they already authorized the President to take all necessary action. They are not likely to take up another resolution. However, if youre in the mood, make COPIES of your "Six Little Words" letter to the President and send ONE EACH to your member of Congress and your states two senators. If you dont know who they are or where to address the envelopes, look here: House. and Senate.
Then talk to, phone and/or email your family, friends, business associates, neighbors, local political clubs, and anyone else you can think of, and urge them to do the same. It should not be one letter per household, but one letter for each person in the household old enough to sign their own name.
So what if the Left can turn out millions in the streets. Each and every one of us has the power to counter them. We FReepers should be able to generate millions of "Six Little Words" letters to the President with even a small effort.

Dear Dub,
Speaking in Georgia, President Bush announced that Democrat Senator, Zell Miller will sponsor his plan to foster job creation and economic growth. Senator Miller's support is a key vote of confidence of the President's strategy, which cuts taxes for every taxpayer and gives 92 million Americans an average of $1,083 in 2003. Independent economists predict that the President's plan will create 1.4 million new jobs by the end of next year, and say that tax cuts for families and an end to the double tax on dividends will provide an immediate boost to the economy.
Contrast President Bush's belief that the best way to stimulate the economy is to put more money back into your pockets with Dick Gephardt's economic plan. In his presidential campaign announcement Gephardt discussed his record as the House Democrat leader, proudly admitting that he "led the fight for the Clinton-Gore" tax increase. He promised to continue his "fight" to raise taxes on every American by "scrapping" President Bush's tax cuts for working families.
Gephardt also announced his own economic plan that includes giving "tax credits" to corporations. Just to be clear a "President Gephardt" would raise taxes on working families and give "tax credits" to corporations. Dick Gephardt sure is a "man of the people" isn't he?
Sincerely,
Jack Oliver

"It was an unwritten rule for a long time...that you kept your mouth shut about the conduct, particularly of national security affairs, by the people that succeeded you. That is obviously not honored by either former President Carter or former President Clinton."

The Grapevine
Daschle on Springer: "we can do a lot better than that"
Recently we reported that Jerry Springer - famous for his outrageous TV talk show - was mulling over the idea of running for the Ohio Senate as a Democrat, of course. To further these goals, Mr. Springer went on CNN's Crossfire Jan. 31 to debate foreign policy with a conservative pundit. Commenting on Mr. Springer's recent dabbling, Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle said, "Springer wouldn't be my first choice for Senate. I understand he was a mayor at one point, but I think we can do a lot better than that."

Call Out The
Media Bias!
Even for "the worst President in all of American history," Hearst Newspapers White House columnist Helen Thomas concedes "there's always room for redemption" and "improvement." Apparently the gold standard for her is former-President Bill Clinton, since she remarked, "I think his heart was in the right place. He made mistakes obviously in his personal life, but he balanced the budget, he created the surplus, and I think he worked for peace in the Balkans, Ireland, Middle East."
Interesting, since Clinton went into the Balkans without UN Security Council approval.
Call her out!
Democrats "Shocked" By Your Hard Work and Support
The Washington Post has reported that your overwhelming get-out-the-vote effort in 2002 that made the Republican majorities possible "came as a shock to Democrats." Democrat Party Chairman Terry McAuliffe told the Post that Democrats "never saw it coming."
The Democrats see "it" coming now and are preparing their own massive get-out-the-vote effort for 2004. Your hard work made the difference in the last election and it will make the difference in 2004. As a Team Leader, we are counting you and your team to recruit more Team Leaders and get Republicans to the polls.

Thanks for the heads up.
Dear Dub,
The U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals, the courts of last resort in the vast majority of federal cases, face a particular crisis with dozens of judgeships remaining unfilled.
One of those vacancies is on the Washington, D.C., court. President George W. Bush nominated Miguel Estrada nearly two years ago to fill that vacancy. If approved, Mr. Estrada would become the first Hispanic to serve on the court.
Unfortunately, Democrats in the United States Senate have delayed Mr. Estrada's nomination since May 2001, most recently employing the use of a filibuster that brought the chamber to a standstill.
Mr. Estrada has received the highest possible rating from the American Bar Association and has the strong support of the Bush Administration, all Republican and several Democrat Senators, the League of United Latin American Citizens, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the American Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans, the Hispanic Business Roundtable, The Latino Coalition, and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Please sign the petition at www.texasgop.org/estrada supporting President Bushs nomination of Miguel Estrada to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals today, and then forward this email to your friends!!
Sincerely,
Susan Weddington

Aren't Carter and Clinton the most repulsive, seditious cretins this side of Satan's lair? Ugh! As I said, we simply can't afford any longer to cede public debate and public relations to the Left.

I have already sent the Whitehouse an e-mail expressing my support for the President, and what he is doing to end saddam's dictatorship in iraq. I will keep on sending e-mails to the the Whitehouse every week expressing my support, until saddam's dictatorship is no more.
To: OldFriend
Fair enough. In fact, I fully expect them, plus Bill Kristol and others of that ilk to begin turning on the President if the war doesn't start before the end of March. But I have listened very carefully to the President. He keeps saying that war is the last resort, and that it can be avoided if Hussein disarms. I believe him. I also believe that if we don't go to war, the Kristol-type neocons will come unglued. Colin Powel has said that war can be avoided if Hussein goes into exile. In any case, Blix suddenly seems to be getting tough with Hussein. Late today news broke that Blix delivered an ultimatum-type letter to the Iraqi government demanding that they destroy those banned missiles. So perhaps it will all come to a head soon.
