The time has come to stand up for America by doing what the Left does as second nature. It makes sure it is both SEEN and HEARD on a regular basis. The Right MUST respond with grassroot rallies with bigger turnouts than those of late. Take the time--get involved in local actvist rallies!
The pendulum is starting to sway more to the right since Powell's speech to the U.N. Now is the time to rally round the flag. The flag is a uniting element and never "oppressive or devisive" as some in academia (U.C. Berkeley) have portrayed it. Forcefully challenge anyone who makes such a statement. The flag stands for freedom for all, period.
ACTION PLAN: (1) Use FREEWAY OVERPASSES to get the message out. Small groups of people holding banners with POSITIVE messages (Support R Troops) and proudly and defiantly waving Old Glory. (2)Get SUPPORT GROUPS to help spread the unity message by participating in the rally. (3) Start tying YELLOW RIBBONS on overpass fencing ( also city trees)as a reminder never to forget.
DO NOW (S.F. Bay Area): Save the dates Feb.11th and Feb. 16th.
(1) Feb. 11th, Tues. from 3-6 p.m. Lafayette, CA. Back R Troops Rally on the El Curtola Bridge, (aka Old Glory Overpass), Lafayette, CA. Exit Hwy 24 at Pleasant Hill Rd to Old Tunnel Rd. Bring Passion!
Don't forget the San Francisco Rally on Sunday Feb. 16th at 1 p.m. on the steps of City Hall. Stand up for America and be there!

Good post flagbrigade! : ) A bump and a ping!
SUNDAY, FEB. 16, 1 P.M. - SAN FRANCISCO CITY HALL STEPS! STAND UP FOR AMERICA!
To: flagbrigade
We need a thread like this for next weekend's protests. All over the country, FR and like-minded folks will be countering the mindless anti-Americanism of the professional protesters (ANSWER aka Workers World Party, and all the other left-wing organizations that are so good at misleading idealistic college kids and busing them in and putting pre-printed signs in their hands... can't help wondering who's paying for that stuff!).
Wouldn't it be great to have ONE THREAD to go to for ideas for signs and slogans, songs and chants -- and kristinn's 'rules of engagement' -- and 'talking points' -- and everything that will make our 'counters' more effective?

Thanks for the ping and thanks for Standing up for America in S.F. at prior rallies during the worst, shrill ,anti-war propaganda to date! The Lafayette Flag Brigade salutes you!

I agree that consolidating ideas in a one-stop location would save a lot of time and educate a lot more patriots. There must be someone out there who understands how this can best be done. I hope (s)he is reading this!

Do those signs cost a dollar a piece?
To: flagbrigade
Thank you Flagbrigade for all that you do!

Good luck with what should be the Mother of All
Counter-Protest rallies. I should be in New York next month if all goes as planned.
To: thunderdome
Hey Thunderdome!
The last time I saw you was in S.F. at the Anti-Gore rallies with my college student friend Steve utilizing the bullhorn in Union Square. Remember? My handle then was outpost22. Can you make it to our rally on Tues. the 11th in Lafayette from 3-6 p.m.?
To: flagbrigade
Add the Left Coast in total agreement to the topic and many of the comments. One look at any of the Anti-Everything movement's website shows they have organization and networking skills far exceeding ours. That's why they can turn out 100,000 against our 50 or 100.
Feel free to drop in or add this thread to any others that have action plans for next weekend.Bumps and pings are no substitute for show leather. Thanks for leading the charge.

Thanks for the support. I have found that one person CAN make a difference. I have also noticed that personal phone calling is the difference between someone showing up at a rally or not making it.

Suggestions for banner slogans? Ones that are accepptable for overpasses and would make people feel motivated and supportive of our troops, president and/or country....
To: Woodstock
that was " acceptable." I never could spell. I was the one who always wondered why the teacher said, "look it up in the dictionary." when I did not know how to spell it in the first place. : )

The DC Chapter of FreeRepublic.com has been counter-demonstrating against the ANSWER crowd for a year and a half now...
Will be doing so in solidarity and in conjunction with the Tri-State chapter 15 Feb. in NYC.
Biggest gain is that the media covers the left and you can give interviews to get our side out. 'Pod
