We're Almost There: First Quarter '03 FReepathon Now Underway .. Thread 7

.... ...
The Free Republic first quarter '03 FReepathon is now underway!

Our goal for this fundraiser is the same as last quarter: $65,000. We have about $4,000 per month coming in from monthly donors so we will need to raise approx $53,000 to hit the target.
The funds raised through these fundraisers are used to pay our operating costs. Free Republic operates on an approximate $260,000 annual budget (breakdown here) and all funds are provided by donations from FReepers and Lurkers.

Thank you all very much for your continued support.
P.S. We are planning to make FreeRepublic.com email addresses available as a thank you to all who donate at least once per year. This new feature should be ready to go within a few days. We will post a notice and a link for donors to setup their FR email address as soon as it's ready.
Donate to FR and help us keep the lights on for the best political forum on the NET!

we could get away with everything but the drinks... sounds like a great time (and idea)! we did smoke some salmon (they were hard to keep lit) and have a big party last summer... a barbeque would be great.

btw, you've got freepmail.

Honest to goodness, I've never seen a THREAD go on this long after the Freepathon is over.

Are you people having separation anxiety?

Ok, I confess.

I know some folks who've been around for a while get tired of seeing the recycled threads, but there are always lots brand new Freepers and Lurkers who see the threads for the first time. I hope that encourages them to consider donating. And you know what they say about the squeaky wheel and the grease...

Anyway, hello to everyone! Hope Y'all are having a good weekend!

Please stop by and bump dware's Fundraising Frustration thread this weekend. Thanks!

It is hard to argue with the success of new monthly donors in this last successful Freepathon.

A lot of Freepers have seen and read those re heated monthly threads. A lot have not.

Whenever you recycle them, I get a lot of replies and freep mail from people who have decided to become new monthly donors. Some are regular donors and give each Freepathon and thanks to your recycled threads, they decided to become new monthly donors.

It works, and I thank you for your great and tireless work to recycle those reasons to be a monthly donor during each Freepathon.

We can consider dropping them somewhere between 2,000 and 5,000 monthly donors. Until then, please continue what you have been doing. It works!

My wife had a friend who had a long bumper sticker:

Back off! I'm a menopausal blonde. I can't find my estrogen, and I own guns.

She said that once tailgaters read the message, they backed off from her big SUV

Thanks so much for sharing this! I'm glad this is helping to increase the number of monthly donors! As I've said many times before, your '5,000 Freepers who care are needed now! is a classic! Thanks for all your efforts!

BTW, it looks like dware has collected $9.50 per mussel in pledges over on his mussel eating FundRaising thread!

Different people respond to different messages. If we have a lot of different ways of getting the word out re the need of monthly donors, we will be more successful.

Well I say God Bless the person who started the Free Snuggles Campaign.

I'd like one day, for only one day, a pic of Snuggles to be on the home page of FR.....now wouldn't THAT start an uproar???? LOL

Actually, I need a short (operative/key word is Short briefing on what the Snuggles campaign is and is about.

Then next week if we aren't in war, I will plug it.
