We're Almost There: First Quarter '03 FReepathon Now Underway .. Thread 7

The Free Republic first quarter '03 FReepathon is now underway!

Our goal for this fundraiser is the same as last quarter: $65,000. We have about $4,000 per month coming in from monthly donors so we will need to raise approx $53,000 to hit the target.
The funds raised through these fundraisers are used to pay our operating costs. Free Republic operates on an approximate $260,000 annual budget (breakdown here) and all funds are provided by donations from FReepers and Lurkers.

P.S. We are planning to make FreeRepublic.com email addresses available as a thank you to all who donate at least once per year. This new feature should be ready to go within a few days. We will post a notice and a link for donors to setup their FR email address as soon as it's ready.

It was well after 4am when I crawled into bed and got called to the phone at 7:30 - and actually functioned as a coherent person on a live radio program at 8:30.

Finally, never, never could we have imagined the horrors, the pain, the mind chilling violence of the murdering terrorist scum's attacks on September 11, 2001 which killed 3,000 innocent citizens of our great country. On that horrific day we also witnessed incredible bravery and sacrifice as many courageous firemen
and policemen, ordinary citizens rushed to the aid of their fellow man even knowing they would not survive the inferno.
We learned of heroes on Flight 93 thwarting the terrorists hellish plan for more killing.
These men and women gave us inspiration to not stand in fear.
They made us proud and gave us an increased awareness of our glorious freedom and liberty.
FReeRepublic was there with us.
FReeRepublic is here for us in good times and in very rough times.
Today we are facing great and critical paths that will significantly
determine how our future way of life will be in America.
Young men and women in the military will be proudly standing in defense of our country against those who wish to destroy our way of life.
Politicians work night and day to legislate law that may critically
carve our God given rights protected by our Constitution.
It is important that we keep informed, active and alert.
