Maryland Area Prayer Thread: Pray for Metro area Freepers and Families

It was suggested on another thread by some wonderful freepers who have familiies in the Maryland Metro area, that we start a prayer thread for our freeper families and friends.

My little sister, her husband, and two children live in the DC area, and I am so worried for them. Hope this nightmare ends soon.

Dear Lord, we are depending on you to confound the plans of the evil one. Cause those who would harm innocent people to make a mistake so that they will be caught. Surround the innocents with your light of protection. We ask in Jesus' name. Amen

Heavenly Father, I pray tonite for the families who have lost loved ones because of the sniper. Lord comfort their hearts and carry them through this difficult time. And Lord I pray for the sniper or snipers that You will cause him(them) to make some mistake that will allow the law enforcement to arrest him (them) before anymore lives are lost. Lord You are greater than any problem and Your arm is able...Please surround the law enforcement too I pray.

I pray for the guardian angels that are putting their lives on the line in the face of this brazen killer.

I read about Guardian Angels doing this today. To imagine people are frightened to pump gas breaks my heart. May God bless and protect the GA and everybody in the area.

So glad you guys are checking in on this thread. Someone gave me major grief on a thread yesterday because I said to someone else "join us on the prayer thread so we can pray for you." He (not the person I was speaking with) was very offended, asking why I just couldn't pray for that person without them coming to the thread. Asked if it was magic to come here and asked if we were passing a plate.

He totally misunderstood, of course. This is just so we can all share this in one place, share our concerns about our loved ones and know one another by name. I'm just not used to needing flame resistant clothing for telling someone I'll pray for them. I'm glad you guys understand.

I am so glad for all of you here and will continue to keep you in my prayers.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, swheats. As I told mafree on her thread, I had just logged off when she posted the linked thread so I missed it until I came home from church this afternoon.

Oh Dear Lord, I pray for the families of all the victims; husbands, wives, children, parents, siblings, other relatives, and friends, like mafree. Please give them strength as they deal with their pain and shock and anger. Thank you for the time these loved ones had on earth and for the ways they touched others lives.

One death can affect so many. These tragedies are beginning to affect many in our nation, Lord. We don't know everything, but you do. We pray you will allow it to end before anyone else is taken, Father. In Jesus name, Amen.
