Maryland Area Prayer Thread: Pray for Metro area Freepers and Families

Posted on 10/10/2002 9:20:04 PM PDT by Freedom2specul8

It was suggested on another thread by some wonderful freepers who have familiies in the Maryland Metro area, that we start a prayer thread for our freeper families and friends.

Dear Lord,

Please grant wisdom to our leaders and government agents and to the police. I ask also that you give them strength to defend us against this evil. Be with Chief Moose especially, and bless him. He has asked us to pray because he knows that all wisdom comes from you. In Jesus' name, Amen

Also, I heard Mark Fuhrman say the police are exhausted and eating junk food and that they can't keep up this pace much longer.

(Hint hint....) If I lived in the area, I think I'd be inclined to cook up a batch of chicken soup or stew or brownies, or etc, and deliver them to the closest police station!

Can anyone in the area verify this and spread the word? I will say that the media (and I'm including talking heads in that category) have tended towards dramatizing things and filling up air time ..... but I'm sure this has been an exhausting, frustrating, stressful, emotionally draining time for all the LEOs involved.

My sister is a Crime Scene Investigator for Montgomery County Md. Police and she said everyone is burning the candles at both ends.

I think the chicken soup and other healthy foods for our LEO's would be a great idea. I will spread the word.

I have been volunteering at the local school near me to watch the parimeter of the scholl and walk the kids into the scholl as they get off the bus. There are many other people offering the same help. The local gas stations near my shop in Kensington are offering free full service and I find it quite amazing how well everyone is pulling together to help those who are scared. We live in a great country

Kayak, I have to clarify that Fuhrman was speaking about his own recollections of being in similar intense situations. He said police spend long hard hours at the station and live on junk/fast food because they don't have time to go home for a decent meal.

He said it's extremely exhausting and difficult to maintain one's concentration for a prolonged period of time.

My heart tends to lead me.... I hear of a need and I try to fill it. This definitely hit me as a need FReepers could fill.

Special prayers for you and your sister, MJY. Two special people! Please tell your sister how much we appreciate all that she's doing.

And stay safe!!

I'm glad you heard it and thought about doing something. It's a great idea!

Now if we can just get the word spread to FReepers in that area ..... MD, VA, and DC.

Hey, I just had a brainstorm ...... posting on the state boards.

MJY ~~~ can you take care of the MD one? Maybe someone from VA or DC will see this and take care of posting it there ...... or can anyone do that? I think it's just FReepers from that state but could be wrong.

I heard Fuhrman say the same thing. Said they can't go on much longer under this kind of pressure.

My sister said she saw some food in the precinct the other day that looked like it was catered (could have been deli platters). Someone may have brought it in. I wouldn't be surprised if some are going out of their way to take care of them a little.

I wish I weren't so far away so I could do this. My sister has had nothing but wonderful things to say about the policemen she works for.

Does your sister work down at the main precinct or whatever you call it? Wherever it is Moose is doing his press conferences from, that's where she works. I wonder if our sisters would know one another.

Does your sister work at headqaurters or the Wheaton office. Unless things have changed, I believe Juvenile has it's offices at the Wheaton Office at Georgia Ave. & Randolph Rd. right behind the KVFD ?
