ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Police in the Washington suburb where five people were gunned down in two days are looking for two "Hispanic" men in the fatal shootings, according to a police bulletin that federal authorities shared with WorldNetDaily.

Montgomery County Police in press conferences have described only the gender, not the race, of the two suspects -- one a driver and the other the shooter.

The be-on-the-lookout, or BOLO, alert that local police sent out earlier today to all law enforcement agencies also described in detail the "white box truck" used by the snipers.

The six-wheeled vehicle resembles a commercial delivery truck, police say. The cab is smaller than, and separate from, the large box-shaped cargo area, which is completely enclosed. The rear passenger side of the bumper has been damaged. And there is block-lettering on the side and rear of the truck.

A Montgomery County Police spokesman confirmed that the BOLO describes the suspects in the sniper slayings as "Hispanic."

But he cautioned that they could be another non-white race.

"We do not count on them being two Hispanic males," said Officer Derek Baliles. "Appearances can be interpreted. We do not want to limit anything at all."

"It's possible," he added, that the suspects could be Middle Eastern.

He also cautioned that their eyewitness account of the suspects is not solid.

Baliles says the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is examining bullet fragments in two other shootings to see if they are connected to the other five, which occurred Wednesday and Thursday.

A 72-year-old man Thursday night was shot to death on a Washington street corner. And a Virginia woman this afternoon was shot in the back at a crafts store. Her condition was not immediately known.

ATF ballistics experts have determined that a high-velocity rifle firing a .223-caliber bullet was used in at least three of the shootings. The bullet is used in hunting rifles and M-16s and makes a large wound as it enters the body.

The police spokesman says FBI profilers will put together a "word picture" Saturday morning to try to make sense of the unusual crime and come up with a possible motive.

Authorities are not ruling out terrorism.

Baliles says the Secret Service has assigned at least one agent to the case. The Office of Homeland Security and CIA are not involved, he says.

The shooters took very select shots of random strangers, and appear to be trained in marksmanship. All six victims who died were killed with a single shot, some apparently shot in the head, although Baliles would not confirm that.

"The Democrats will be devastated if they can't pin this on white boy NRA "extremists"."

I wish I had been able to hear the anti-gun lobby as possible source for the mayhem. Every time something vile gets passed in Congress to diminish our liberties it is based on some kind of "event". We may truly have no idea whether this shooter was paid for by some other entity than whatever they choose to blame in their pc minds.

I doubt that they would be "allowed" to look at a deliberate fabrication by the left, serving their own purposes.

When I see Bush kissing Fox's butt about the poor migrants

You got that right.

and if they turn out to be muslims... well Bush is still letting them in too.

"..if this is a new tactic, we are in trouble.."

This is inevitable. This is only a small sample of what's going to come.

Aliens are allowed to purchase and own firearms. It's right there on that yellow firearms application you fill out when you buy a gun.

I couldn't believe it. (I hadn't bought a gun for awhile.) I said to the dealer (long before 9/11), "you mean to tell me a noncitizen can buy a firearm?" He said, "Sure, why not?" (He is of foreign origin.)

I said, "Because we have millions of foreign nationals living in our borders, many of whom consider America to be their sworn enemy. And not only do we allow them in the country, we're going to arm them, as well? That's why not."

This is the scenario I've been dreading.

If Bush wanted troops protecting our borders he is the one with the authority to do so, not Tiny Dashle. All Bush has to do is LISTEN to the average American and he'll get reelected. If he keeps ignoring us, he won't.

Big Bump on that. Bush is a fool to continue on with the old game of looking the other way when it comes to illegal immigration in this post 9/11 era. It's a crisis that has spun out of control. This issue definitely has the capacity of destroying his chances for reelection.

My memory's vague about this, but wasn't the .222 Remington the forerunner of the .223? Wasn't the M-16 initially chambered for the .222? Other than that, I don't recall any semi auto chambered for the .222. If it's a .222 (which I doubt) then that narrows the field, considerably. Bolt action or Thompson Contender, maybe.

Probably a .223 semi auto. Probably Muslims. Possibly going to see this kind of thing happen quite a bit.

Isn't the killing power of the .22, that it ricochets in the body after entering the body? Would that cause the amount of blood seen in the lady on the bench photo?

The 22.250 is a better round for long range shooting in my limited experience.

You bet. I'll never forget one time looking over some hand guns with a local gun dealer when I noticed an hispanic couple next to me also looking at guns to buy. Both seemed to be illegals and this guy's wife was translating what the sales guy was saying about the guns he was thinking about buying. I remember thinking at the time "how can an illegal alien buy a gun in this country"? This was about 8 years ago.

Absolutely! You would be amazed at how often this happens in California. I know gun dealers are motivated by profit, but someone needs to exercise some common sense.

I peruse the inventory of local guns stores, and am disgusted at the numbers of aliens shopping for guns. And not just so called "Saturday night specials", either. They're looking at Sigs, HKs, Glocks and the like.

You're right about that. The ballistics are better, but I've been told that some of the pre-ban .223's with heavy barrels are accurate to 500 yards. I don't know how much energy is left at that range, but that's what these guys told me.

Personally, I could never get a .223 (mini 14) to do any good beyond 100 yards. But, then again, my was the standard carbine Ruger.

I'm not that good with a rifle, anyway. My skill was always with the old wheelguns, around 6.5 inch barrel.

No, the .22 is not a blood spilling round unless it goes in thru a major artery or major vein. The .22 round from a distance doesn't do much damage at all unless it's a head shot, even then it's not much of a round. Up close, 25 feet, it will ricochet around inside if it hits a major bone upon entry.

Is the .223 bigger than the .22? Sorry, dumb here.

Maybe 2 to 3 times as big? to accomodate more powder? travel further? Seems like the guy would need to be a pretty good shot.

"It is scary, isn't it?"

What's scary is that with estimates of 1.7 million to 7 million Muslims in America, and with the arming of aliens(legal and illegal), and with the Koran approving the wholesale slaughter of non-Muslims, it's a matter of time before these societal components prove to be a lethal combination.

It's like old dynamite. Sooner or later, it's gonna blow.

More accurately, it can make a large hole as it exits the body (depending on the composition of the bullet).
