Isn't the killing power of the .22, that it ricochets in the body after entering the body? Would that cause the amount of blood seen in the lady on the bench photo?

No, the .22 is not a blood spilling round unless it goes in thru a major artery or major vein. The .22 round from a distance doesn't do much damage at all unless it's a head shot, even then it's not much of a round. Up close, 25 feet, it will ricochet around inside if it hits a major bone upon entry.
