A holiday weekend video treat: How cable music channel VH1 turned booing of Senator Hillary Clinton into cheering.
Senator Clinton was booed when she walked on stage last October at a rock concert in Madison Square Garden to benefit 9/11 victims. It was shown live by VH1 but, as ABC's John Stossel illustrated in a July 20/20 special on media distortions, when the Viacom-owned cable channel replayed it sound technicians replaced the booing with cheering and applause. And that version is the permanent record VH1 put onto its DVD of the event.
During his July 12 20/20 look at media manipulation and distortions, Stossel used the Hillary Clinton incident as his first example.
Earlier this summer, ABC's John Stossel showed how VH1 last year replaced booing of Hillary Clinton with applause
Stossel explained: Last fall Paul McCartney headlined a concert to benefit victims of September 11th. Some politicians appeared, including Senator Hillary Clinton. Over the booing of Senator Clinton as she walked on stage and waved, Stossel noted: And people in the audience booed her. Booed and heckled.
Stossel told viewers: But then MTV's channel VH1 re-ran the same concert and made it into a DVD. As 20/20 showed the same scene again, but this time VH1's new version with applause, Stossel pointed out: Notice a difference? The booing has been removed. Now and forever on the DVD the crowd applauds Senator Clinton.
The MRC's Mez Djouadi has posted a RealPlayer clip of what Stossel showed. To watch it, go to the posted version of this CyberAlert: POSTED VERSION.

Why are you amazed. This is typical media hype for the Klintons

A useful thing about DVDs is that they easily fit in our garbage cans.
So should MTV/VH1. But then, most people already know that.

AMAZING!Not the term that I would apply. Disgusting, is appropriate. Total lack of integrity, would be technically correct. But, after all, typical of our Leftist dominated entertainment industry.

My advice: get this story posted on Slashdot.org ASAP to get the word out. They have 250,000 viewers. They'll eat something like this up.

Nothing new, really. Stalin's people were doctoring photos 50+ years ago. Same exact thing.

Remember Animal Farm (Orwell)? Reminds of the bleeting sheep.

This story is old, If they dont know by now they never will. Could you imagine MTV of VH1 replaceing "boos" with "cheers" for a Republican Senator, if anything they would amplify the "boos"

Doesn't this constitute an "in-kind" contribution to a political whore? I am not a lawyer but should this at least seems it should be reported on her annual finance information forms to whatever office is supposed to receive notice of political donations or gifts. Also, if there is an enterprising conservative legal scholar, why not file a complaint with FEC for corporate donations to a political whore which I thought was illegal. Oh, well, just a thought.

Its like something out of Stalinist Russia

I remember watching a satellite feed where some editor dubbed out Clinton's little laugh when he said, "I'm just trying to control my, hehe, sexual impulses." They knew he sounded sleazy, so they dubbed it out before my very eyes. And that was for news broadcasts.

I took your advice an posted it on Slashdot.org. Let's see if they keep it posted.

The first thing I thought of was the movie "Victory" with Sylvester Stallone about a soccer team of Allied POWs being made to play the Nazis for a PR stunt. They were playing in Paris, and the Nazi commentator had a small box where he would crank the knob to try to make listeners believe the French were cheering when the Germans scored a goal.

Anyone expecting the truth from TV is but a moron. In fact, given TV's jurisdiction over viewers, it should be forbidden by the FCC, to misrepresent actual events.
To: Windcatcher
These are truly unashamed proselytist cult Nazi tactics. These people are nuts and paranoid to think America is going to sink if we hear that whore being booed.

If only we had more John Stossel's in the media....

I consider useless CD's and DVD's great for skeet shooting. As far as Hillarity: eat sh*t and die.

Maybe MTV/VH1 will release an unedited version later on. Then, let the market decide on which one they like better.

I have the "UNEDITED" wave file, if anybody wants it. Just freepmail me your email address.
