At first, it seemed like debris. Large objects were falling from the top of the World Trade Center's north tower, just a few minutes after American Airlines Flight 11 hit.

"It took three or four to realize: They were people," says James Logozzo, who had gathered with co-workers in a Morgan Stanley boardroom on the 72nd floor of the south tower, just 120 feet away from the north tower. "Then this one woman fell."

Never forget while we destroy our enemies and their will to fight further.

They can be deterred.

OMG! This is the most horrifying article I have ever read in my life. Those who witnessed this will never be the same. May God help them. And may we never forget.

Not generic religious nuts. Islamic monsters. Do NOT blame religion for what these evil people did. God didn't make them do it. Each one of them made a conscious decision to commit these acts.

I think that every Islamic terrorist did it in the name of Allah. When a muslim says Allah, he means God. If a man murders others, in the name of God, he is a religious nut. It may comfort you to think that "God didn't make them do it." But do you take any comfort in the fact that God didn't stop them?

Allah is not God. Allah is a false god.

God does not prevent man from having free will.

God is not to blame for September 11. Of course, if a man murders another in the name of god, he is a religious nut. But it's not religion, in general, that killed the man. It's the nut that killed the man.

Good for USA Today to print this.
Keeping Americans from understanding reality seems to be a priority for our "press." The first Amendment gets turned on its head.
Wall-to-wall violence if it is fictional; suppression of truth if it will cause Americans to question Liberalthink!

Thank you.

This has been bookmarked for the phoney conservatives and the butt budies of the Islamakazis who would have us forget and then blame these innocent victims of Islamakazi Mass Murder on 9/11/01.

I have zero tolerance for either group, and that tolerance gets less each day as we approach the first anniversary of 9/11!

Thanks for the ping.

I have bookmarked to repost after the phoney conservatives and butt buds of the Islamakazis post so nonsense to distract us from this terrible reality.

On 9/11 last year, the Islamakazis mass murdered a large number of innocents on our soil. Since then the Islamakazi lovers/butt buddies and phoney conservatives have worked 24/7 to make us forget about what happened. Or the worse of them try to blame Americans for the terrible crime against us.

We will never forget 9/11. We will not allow the Islamakazi Butt Buddies to re write history, nor will we allow the phoney conservatives to blame us for what happened. A terminal Pox on both of their houses is what they deserve for trying revise this terrible history.

Nice rant! In fact, both of your posts were excellent and expressed many of the same thoughts I have.

Thanks for your service to the USA. BTW, my husband "flew Navy".

No offense intended; I just want you to be realistic about your expectations. Nothing will happen to Islamics and Wahabbists. Not a damned thing.

You're right friend, the sub-humans won't stop until they're forced to. We need to get religious with them and deal with radicalized Islam in a truly biblical fashion. We should believe them when they say they're engaged in a holy war and they want to kill all of us.

European military doctrine and old world tactical victories will have only short term gains. These people are chopping off heads and sacrificing their offspring's lives for their cause, that level of commitment will not be abated simply by out gunning the Taliban.

This guy says it all:

It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means. Horror. Horror has a face...And you must make a friend of horror. Horror and moral terror are your friends. If they are not then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies.

I remember when I was with Special Forces...Seems a thousand centuries ago...We went into a camp to innoculate the children. We left the camp after we had innoculated the children for Polio, and this old man came running after us and he was crying. He couldn't see. We went back there and they had come and hacked off every innoculated arm. There they were in a pile...A pile of little arms. And I remember...I...I...I cried... I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized...like I was shot...Like I was shot with a diamond...a diamond bullet right through my forehead...And I thought:

My God...the genius of that. The genius. The will to do that. Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure. And then I realized they were stronger than we.

Let Everyone See the Horror

Oh how the public has been mollycoddled into complacency over the most horrific single act in the history of human kind.

On September 11, 2001, we were shocked to seeing the WTC dissolve into a noxious cloud of dust. That image became the focus of the anger of the media and the average American.

What the public did not see was the totality of the horror of that day. If they saw it, there would not be any debates of calls for restraint.

Ther were at least TWO HUNDRED people who chose or were forced to jump from the towers. TWO HUNDRED!! Some in pairs, holding each other. Some in groups. They knew what THAT fate would be. They could see what was left of the ones who jumped before them.

But that is not suited to be seen… It's "just too horrific."

I contend that should be on every other billboard all across this nation with the caption: "This is what Islamist want to do to you and your children."

But that is NOT the worst that happened. The one who did not jump suffered a far worse agony.

Trapped, fire, smoke. A rumble. Looking out a window to see the other tower devoured in the evil gray cloud of pyroclastic doom.

Still trapped they now feel the floor shake, then away. They know what is coming. Then a slow series of impacts followed by a crushing sound so loud that it cannot be likened to anything the living has ever herd.

Louder and faster the impacts come. The ceiling tiles are falling and dust fills the air. Then here and there a steel beam slams through from the upper floors. Still uninjured. Still conscience. Adrenalin is now making them hyper-aware of every square inch with their vision. They are now experience the slow motion vision that was intended to be a survival mechanism. It is now a curse.

Louder. Faster. Closer.

All light is now gone. Noise overwhelms all sensation. Crushing compression. Falling. Being hit from all sides, pulled, punched, pinched and crushed at lightening speed. "Oh GOD! OH GOD! Please let me die!" Darkness. Finally, fading reality. Peace. Finally, they are ground into indistinguishable tissue.

Yes, that is what they want to do to all of us and our children.

We must see the horror that happened to remind us that there is much more horror to come. It must be stopped here and now.

If Islamic leaders do not agree with these lunatics then they should be leading the charge to rid this world of these extremist who have commandeer their faith and are turning it to evil acts in the name of the Almighty. They must join us in this fight; they must lead it in their countries.

Let's Roll!

Gimme a break. I don't even know what you mean by "the libs" as if there are just 2 groups, the libs and the cons (conservatives). A merica is a pastiche and a tapestry of many different views, and most of us wanted America to go to war after that happened, in just the way that we did, and we all want America to continue to seek down terrorists and heighten national security.

Huh?

First you accuse me of saying that I lumped everyone into two groups, (I didn't; I mentioned one that seems to be against fighting the terrorist enemy), then you SEEM to agree with me?

I don't get it.

BTW, America is a pastiche AND a tapestry? Metaphor day today?

pas·tiche Pronunciation Key (p-stsh, pä-)
n.
A dramatic, literary, or musical piece openly imitating the previous works of other artists, often with satirical intent.
A pasticcio of incongruous parts; a hodgepodge: “In... a city of splendid Victorian architecture... there is a rather pointless pastiche of Dickensian London down on the waterfront” (Economist).

tap·es·try Pronunciation Key (tp-str)
n. pl. tap·es·tries
A heavy cloth woven with rich, often varicolored designs or scenes, usually hung on walls for decoration and sometimes used to cover furniture.
Something felt to resemble a richly and complexly designed cloth: the tapestry of world history.

I'm not sure you used either word correctly.

For those who jumped, the fall lasted 10 seconds. They struck the ground at just less than 150 miles per hour — not fast enough to cause unconsciousness while falling, but fast enough to ensure instant death on impact. People jumped from all four sides of the north tower. They jumped alone, in pairs and in groups.

The manner of death for all those who died was listed as homicide on death certificates.

There's also something to be said for going to New York City, standing outside the fence they've set up, and looking down into that massive hole in the ground. I finally got the chance to do that 2 weekends ago, but it was too late. It was already too antiseptic, too clean, like looking at an amputee who has already learned to walk with his prosthetic. What we need to see, and remember, is what it looked like when it was still a bloody stump.

Is anger justified? I think so.

Shalom.
