FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute
and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new
word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Heya Billie! Man! You do great work! Thanks darlin'...

Beastly hot runnin' yesterday...(my left arm went all numb and tingly, is that good or bad?)...heinous traffic coming and going from the Five-sided Insane Asylum...took me three hours to go 40 miles gettin' home...

Good part is we had friends stay with us last nite...they cleared quarters yesterday and left going to Okinawa today...plenty of red meat on the grill (Bulgogi), veggies on the grill, homebrew and good company...

Just got back from a meeting up North... wasn't nearly as bad getting back today...at least I'm not homicidal from the drive...

Yes, indeed, these are gorgeous drawings from Billie's talented hands - and I hope one day will be available for purchase or for gifts??? (Hint, Hint).....

This President and his wife, the First Lady, are just simply joys to behold in everything they do.

And to see President Reagan - as we will always remember him - another joy!

Every day we get to see the President and/or the First Lady, and sometimes the Vice President - over on the Day in the Life threads. They provide antidotes - as this thread does (the FR FINEST) to the maddening monopolistic media moguls. (Do you like that - what is it called - onomatopeia? or something like that?)

Am reading Ann Coulter's book and she calls them the media monopoly. I usually called them presstitutes or press puppets. But I like media monopolists (even if that's not a word - it gets people thinking).

Anyway - there are FR threads that nourish and uplift - and this is one. Thanks, Billie. And thanks to all who come and visit and bring their graphics and talents here!

(Oh - my gift to the FR FINEST thread today is a picture from yesterday's Dose - actually several - of the President. He is just soooo good, (and, yes, good looking), full of love and joy, honor and dignity, with people of all ages:

Greetings to one and all. I have returned, not so safe and certainly not so sound. This has been a terrible two weeks, fraught with frustration from morning to night, long into the nights.

Mama Bear, I see why you totally gave up on sbcglobal.....If I could access cable here, I am sure I might have done the same.

Thanks to each of you who has posted requests for me to hurry back. OH ! MY!. If you only knew how much I was trying. Those folks at sbc are filing workmen's comp claims, claiming permanent ear and psychological damage.

I honestly think they must wish I could access cable, just to get me off their backs.

Thanks again, to each of you, it meant so much to me to realize that I was missed.

I am just glad you all put your imaginations back to work and brought me 'home'.

Libertina - I like seeing VP Cheney and Mrs. Cheney also - because they are both awesome people and extremely talented. We need them both so ooooo much!

A few days ago someone posted a picture of the VP in which he looked pensive and sad.

But this picture - one of the RARE ones since 9-11 - with the President and Vice President together - happy - is just wonderful:
