Given the carping and nasty nature of FR as of late, I thought it might be a good time to see the more civil and gracious side of participants. Here is a thread for just that purpose to edify, encourage, and thank.
Ever wanted to thank that unsung FR hero? Agree or disagree, why not tell JohnHuang2 or Registered how much you appreciate their skills. And can you imagine the many hours Alamo-Girl puts into her work? Perhaps you appreciate how well the folks over at Word For The Day wield their words. Or maybe you just want to tell WIMom and her gang that youre sorry for all your unkind words about the recent Freepathon ads, and thank her for all her hard work on that. Maybe you are an FR Radio fan. Well, you get the idea.
What this thread is NOT for: complaints against the management, flaming those you disagree with, bashing the current administration, leaving your opus, whinning about someone being banned, criticizing FR spelling, grammar, or sentence structure, calling out newbies (unless they are disrupting this thread, of course), shilling for your candidacy, carping about a particular regular thread. Well, you get the idea.
Freep on
..
P.S. No, Im not fishing for compliments. Ive already been called every name in the book here on FR, and toothless hag is still my personal favorite.

Jim, I would like to thank you for continuously helping me to grow. When I think back to the time I first came here, and truly knowing NOTHING, I sent you a freepmail explaining I was a registered Dem and would like to learn, I realize now you may have thought: this person is either the stupidest disruptor EVER, or, she is telling the truth here. And, you know I've had plenty of ups and downs here, especially early on. But, you have allowed me to not only post, but also to write, and to express my thoughts about this FL race. I am very grateful and humbled by your generosity. Thank you. Sincerely, summer
And, to all, you have helped me in ways to see, and understand -- and that does not mean I agree with everything (and I may never agree with you on some things), but, that's OK. What we can agree on, we can share, and what we can discuss, we will. Thank you for helping a teacher to remain a student! :)

If anyone knows where the NFR Platinum credit card got to, I'd like to discuss some of the purchased items on the last invoice... The gyro-stabilized "Mr. Neutron" espresso maker.... that was me. The boys down at area 25.5 said Starbucks wouldn't deliver anymore. They wouldn't tell me why so I fugured they should make their own from now on. Less liability.

I can't begin to thank the people here - the ones behind the scenes who make this "liberty internet island" work, but my sincere THANKS go out to all....and to most all of the posters who have something worthwhile to add, or a thought to provoke another thought. THANK YOU.

The gyro-stabilized "Mr. Neutron" espresso maker.... that was me. Psyop...First Brick of MARS...Has your lavish lifestyle of late totally befuddled your sense of aesthetic balance? Why do you feel that you must have unused pure coffee water and thus choose to create Hydrogen ad hoc by running a stream of stripped protons through the MR Neutron espresso machine's Linear Accelerator stage? That ALONE boggles my MIND! Not to mention the Heavy FUSION stage to make oxygen atoms requiring forces found only in Supernovae!...For Crying out loud, MAN!...just cause all our power is solar don't give you the right to conduct Theoretical Particle experiments just to get an unrecycled cup of JAVA every steenking morning!!! CRIMINY!!! LOL....
LT You have a good head on your shoulders...lay some pork ribs on this lad and talk some sense into him...And revoke his buy 5 get one free cup of Heavy water card from Los Alamos while he's chillin at the Embassy!!!

Several targets for my silver hammer? Huh? What?
Wow, Max, thanks!
Maxwell's Silver Hammer
The Beatles generally didn't care much for this song, except McCartney, who wrote it. What does it mean? It's a novelty song about a serial killer, Maxwell Edison, a medical student who first kills his girlfriend with a silver hammer, then a teacher, followed by a judge. The "pataphysical," is an avant-garde word invented by Alfred Jarry, a French pioneer of the absurd theatre, which describes a branch of metaphysics.
Joan was quizzical, studied pataphysical science in the home
Late nights all alone with her a test tube, oh, oh, oh, oh
Maxwell Edison, majoring in medicine, calls her on the phone
"Can I take you out to the pictures Jo-o-o-oan?"
But as she's getting ready to go, a knock comes on the door
Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer came down upon her head
Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer made sure that she was dead
Back in school again Maxwell plays the fool again, teacher gets annoyed
Wishing to avoid and unpleasant scene-e-e-ene
She tells Max to stay when the class has gone away, so he waits behind
Writing fifty times "I must not be so-o-o-o"
But when she turns her back on the boy, he creeps up from behind
Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer came down upon her head
Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer made sure that she was dead
P.C. thirty one said "we've caught a dirty one"
Maxwell stands alone, painting testimonial pictures, oh, oh, oh, oh
Rose and Valerie screaming from the gallery, say he must go free
The judge does not agree, and he tells them so-o-o-o
But, as the words are leaving his lips, a noise comes from behind
Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer came down upon her head
Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer made sure that he was dead
Silver hammer man

To: JohnHuang2; AmishDude; sleavelessinseattle; Clive; Cincinatus' Wife; dennisw; Diogenesis; weikel; ..
Thanks to all of you for pinging me on Important News, especially international stories.
JohnHuang2: thanks for the wide-ranging nature of your posts and your excellent commentary.
SleavelessinSeattle: thanks for your insight and passion on issues and your concern for the next generation.
Clive and Cincinatus'Wife: thanks for caring about Africa and especially Zimbabwe and for your advocacy on behalf of a brave people who have acted within the boundaries of democracy, and who deserve better than the thuggery of Mugabe. It's heartening to see that FReepers have a vision for a free and democratic Africa.
dennisw and weikel: thanks for your posts and our shared passion for Israel (and our shared loathing of the Saudis). It's good to have someone with which to commiserate.
diogenesis: your pics have been awesome, and necessarily brutal at times (I'm still tryiing to understand that Constantinople thing...)
swarthguy: you appeared just in time to provide so much info and insight on South Asia. (You have a good sense of humor too).
2sheep and Thinkin' Gal: Your insights on scripture have been awesome and thought-provoking. Thanks for the encouragement to mine deeper and see more clearly the obvious.
Grampa Dave: you're funny when your angry ! I enjoy your vicious little rants ! Keep it up.
knighthawk: so glad you didn't leave us. You are our window on Europe. Without you I wouldn't have understood the meaning of Pym's assassination and the issues his campaign and death exposed. Don't lose hope for Holland !
section9: you are my go-to guy for military and geo-political strategy. Thanks for all the intrigue.
Thank you JimRob.
Thank you brave American servicemen and women, and thanks to our allies, especially the British, the Canadians, the Aussies, the Israelis and the Turks.
To: AmishDude
Whoops ! I meant to say that I enjoy your humour, especially those pointed jabs at us "English". It's an Anabaptist thing...I guess we wouldn't understand.

This web site helps many with research, from national reporters to high school students. Alamo Girl had done a fantatic job.
Many others have also made available hard to find information. Recently "Death of Neil Roberts" from FR was quoted in an article "Three Stories of Heroism" in CAPE CORAL MAGAZINE.

Thank you very much, I am glad I stayed.

As pro-Palestinian as he was, I wouldn't doubt this being the case. One thing about ol'bert he was alway's ready to start an argument, I was just curious what happened to him. After 9-11 I haven't seen hide nor hair of him.
