Trump Candidate Scorecard

Posted on 11/08/2022 8:08:35 PM PST by Heff

Is anyone keeping score on the Trump backed candidates and how they’ve done tonight? Conversely, how have the candidates done that distance themselves from Donald Trump?

Trump is running. Desantis will get crushed if he tries. You will be voting for Trump in Nov. ‘24. Get used to the idea.

I’ll get used to what I want to do pal. Not get lectured by the person who wants to mow the lawn at Mar A Lago for free.

Not all have children. Many were not happy with the Dobbs decision

I am exactly the same as I have been for years. Not a damn thing has changed.

So much of Free Republic has changed.

Read the profile.

I just don’t support some or manybe many of the candidates you support, but still, adhere to basic Reagan Conservatism, and I don&t call Freepers names.

Vance, Paul, Rubio, DeSantis, Abbott, and Kemp aren’t saying they want to ban abortion from the point of conception with no exceptions. Only Stitt banned it from conception. But, while the others you listed ran as pro-life, they still kept it legal (or propose to keep it legal) up to a certain point.

And the pro abortionists everywhere else win. This is why we should not legislate this topic. Put our pro life money into actually saving babies by supporting families, rather than pro life lobbyists. The money will be used the way it should and many moderate Dems will vote GOP, as well as libertarians.

Considering her opponent is Secretary of State and there were major issues with voting in Maricopa County today she’s been dogging the quality of how her opponent runs elections in AZ for some time now. I hope Lake wins.

We’re spending too much time on Trump vs DeSantis

The real villain tonight is Mitch McConnell

McCarthy isn’t much better but at least he likely wins promotion tonight. McConnell laid an egg tongue and we didn’t establish a platform of specific policies in a layup year politically

That’s because conservatives win in conservative states

Lefties in lefty states

And sad to say more lefties in America than we like to admit

Outside the south not enough whites vote R to offset the minority votes most of whom we imported last 30-50 years to change the complexion of the nation

Despite Texas and Florida pockets Latinos vote D

Ditto Blacks despite Trump picking up some black male upticks of 8-10 points

I’m the plains not enough minorities to worry about like the south has

Bottom line

We imported a non white D voting block

And not enough whites in purple or blue states to offset it

Plus a few screwy yankee white lefty states like in New England

Virginia Georgia and North Carolina are now in play because too many northern whites liberals moved in

Florida survives despite black and Jewish D blocks because white refugees who moved down vote R and the Dade question favors R

Throw onto that the left controls our institutions and every generation from boomers down gets more D voting and well it’s not encouraging

Their urban control means they can determine swing states now or it sure looks that way unless White R voters really come out

Id like to see demographic stats on voting and turnout

I’m not sure who we run whether Trump or neocon or moderate can fix it

They have the people and the urban control where it matters

We have red states they have blue

It’s urban versus suburban and rural largely

But where it counts they have the people and the votes which given corruption they run unchallenged and unpunished is formidable

That’s how I see it after tonight

I think the left are surprised I know I am

I figured we’d do better considering how badly they’ve done governing

I was wrong

They are ideology and motivated and damn sure more than I estimated

I live in a conservative sort of bubble in Nashville metro

But when I go to Michigan frequently I see jet whites here are not like us

Not proportionately anyhow and Michigan ain’t the worst of it

Shocked as I just woke up from a long nap... With inflation, crime and the sex changes and men in girls’ locker rooms The GOP had great issues to run against. For it not to be a red tsunami, somethings are very wrong, obviously. Worse inflation in forty years?

Let’s celebrate rather than disparage the overturning of the faulty decision that was Roe.

Roe may have been faulty, but it kept abortion from being a dominant campaign issue. We are now seeing the result of overturning it. Now abortion will be a major issue for everyone's platform.

We have a lot of people who are passionate about being pro-life. We are seeing in the PA race that there are MORE women who will treat abortion access as their dominant issue.

In Guam we got a delegate who has no vote. The Guam local government stayed Democrat.

“Isn’t DeSantis a big pro-lifer and didn’t he insist on enforcing abortion laws?”

If your state is culturally pro-life then you can win as a pro-life candidate.

Pennsylvania showed that if you push pro-life in a state which is not culturally pro-life, then you lose. Politics is downstream from culture.

A State with a Tranny Health Secretary is probably not going to be a bastion of Pro-Life.

I agree with you. Allowing the Dems to paint you as only interested in restricting abortion will make you lose.

Politics is all about finding issues that a majority of people care passionately about, and painting yourself as being for what they care about.

Allowing people to be free to make their own decisions is a winning issue.

I wouldn’t quibble with that. There are at least four pro-life governors who won
tonight. That’s nothing to sneeze at.

Will be interesting to see the numbers in a few days,

“So you’re pro-abortion because you can gain by it.”

If making abortion be your main issue results in the pro-abortion candidate winning, then what have you gained?

Each state is culturally different, and we need to focus on what elements of the conservative message will win in that state.
