The GOP Finally Figured Out Where the Field Was
seft | 9/17/2022 | LS

Posted on 09/17/2022 9:26:35 AM PDT by LS

For years many of us have been screaming for the GOP to just get on the field. Too often the muckety-mucks led by the McRomneys run and hide with any controversial issue (abortion, for example) and hide behind "muh tax cuts."

So far, no one has provided an inside look at exactly how Greg Abbott/Ken Paxton in Texas or Ron DeSantis in Florida actually arrived at the conception of what I'll call "Operation Alinsky #4" but whoever and however they did it, it was genius on multiple levels. And it is anything but a "stunt." It is the single best maketing political initiative I have seen seen since the Willie Horton ad, and that includes many of Trump's approaches.

In Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals," which no Republican ever seems to read, Rule #4 is "Make the enemy live up to his own set of rules." Ipso fatso, as Archie Bunker would say, make liberals live up to the sanctuary city/illegals are wonderful rule they have created.

As it turns out, they don't like it. They don't like it at all! And while the busses in NY (New Kabul), Chicago (Benghazi-by-the-Lake), and DC unloading illegals was deeeee----lish, nothing topped dumping them at Martha's Vinyard. The juxtaposition of these rich snots saying they "don't have room" while living (2 weeks of the year) in multi-million dollar 50-room mansions was too perfect.

Fortunately, despite the piggies squealing, the GOP has not backed down. New busloads arrived at Muriel Bow Wow Bow Bowser's fine estates today, namely at the hovel of the Veep Kampuchea Harris. (She of the "our border is secure" comment, immediately contradicted by an ILLEGAL who said "We came illegally!" Can't make this up!)

This is a political win/win/win. It in a very small way reduces the illegal burden in TX and FL; it exposes the left the way the Patriot Day (J6) proceedings did (where the squidpickle congress critters ran like frightened children before a guy in a Viking hat and were humiliated beyond belief); and it elevates illegal immigration to one of the top issues next to inflation, the economy, and the election steal.

Don't know how long it will last, but the strategy is brilliant. Well done, for a change, GOP. Well done. Now . . .

don't just send some.

SEND. THEM. ALL!

All true, but follow-up questions that needs to be asked include:

Is legislation passed by an (illegal) VP, valid?

Could a simple "point of order" in the US Senate bring this all out?

One of the best parts of the Martha’s Vineyard gambit is that the Left didn’t see it coming. It caught them totally by surprise and off-guard. They never believed that Republicans had the balls and energy to pull this off…in 99% of the cases, they’d be dead-on right. Imagine Mitch McConnell when he heard about this? He probably filled his pants faster than Joe could.

Some fighters are emerging. They can’t just isolate Trump and demonize him…a little secret, it’s possible to isolate and destroy one prominent guy, you can’t do that to many acting together. The Rats won’t know how to handle that. They never expected it.

I agree. Hope he states as governor where he is gs huge impact. VP would be ax wasted 4 years and who knows who we’d get as governor for FL. The likes of Charlie Crist would be disastrous.

It would be nice if Arizona was on board with this. However, Doug Ducey is just too much of a wimp.

Yeah I thought Planned Parenthood would be easy to defund with Trump in power and especially with James O Keefe exposing that organization for the murderers they are, but they are still getting government $$$$

Clearly, there are a lot of Country Club Republicans who prefer Marxism to MAGA policies. It’s hard to see how you get around that simple fact.

Couldn’t even end Obamacare after promising to do so if they got the house and senate, which the losers accidentally did, not realizing they didn’t actually want it. Ooops.

There are so many opportunities to make meaningful cuts in spending. Tons of them, but the GOP isn’t interested in reducing the size and scope of government.

If you think about big government is weighing heavily on every aspect of Americans’ lives. And its also the base of all Democrat power and their reward system.

Job #1 for Republicans should be shrinking the government back down to a rational size, eliminating redundancies and waste, reducing regulations and taxes, shifting more functions to the states, and generally restoring federalism as the Founders intended.

Clearly, there are a lot of Country Club Republicans who prefer Marxism to MAGA policies.

What they don't like is a fuss messing up their fun during drinks and a meal in the club room. Marxism is out on the streets and no matter. Trumpism invaded where they live and demanded they do something. That's bad.

An excellent point there. The R’s may well accidentally win one or both chambers in November in spite of themselves.

The R’s are coming out with a “Commitment to America” next week. I watched McCarthy talk about it on the Laura Ingrahm Show and he dodged her pointed questions. Even she got frustrated with him. As usual the purpose behind this 11th hour “pledge” is to generate more cash and votes, not actually commit do doing anything. Bear in mind that here we are just a few weeks away from a pivotal election and few people have any idea what the GOP stands for.

One thing seems obvious to me: Republicans simply don’t want to lead and that is the problem. Trump leads, but the party is uncomfortable with him, at best.

True that. There are a lot of cowards in the party, but for some reason we keep re-electing them. We really do need to make a commitment to ourselves to hold the people we elect ACCOUNTABLE. No excuses, whining or dodging. Produce or you’re gone. That would help to cull a lot of the weak ones out of the herd.

"can’t even manage to defund NPR for crying out loud, which should have been the easiest of “battles” to win."

My understanding is that NPR's annual cost is circa $250 million, of which about 1% comes from Federal government directly and 10% indirectly from various government entities, federal, state & local.

The biggest category of contributors are Woke corporations, about 37% of NPR's total revenues.

The technical term for government controlled capitalism is fascism.

You’re right.

It’s a major point. Same one that should have been made with Obama.

We cannot be ruled by foreigners. Their laws are null and void.

Every Obama EO, every Kamala tie breaker vote needs to be re-voted with a cleaned out Congress.

I love how the liberals cry that they can't handle the housing and feeding of 50 people in their resort town, but they expect little border towns of 30,000 people to absorb 10,000 migrants into their schools, hospitals, shelters, and utility grids.

And then they blame Republican governors for lack of water and energy brownouts.
