About 1 in 5 Americans say they lost a loved one to COVID-19, according to a new poll, as Thursday marked the one-year anniversary of the pandemic.
The poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that about 3 in 10 Americans are still worried about themselves or a family member being infected with the contagious bug.

Only 1 family member out of about 80 has even caught it and that's because they vacationed in MX last March.
Several people might know each fatality. Still 1 in 5 is quite a stretch.
I’ve lost friends to Covid. After the lockdowns they became jerks.
Still breathing but they are lost friends all the same.
Well, maybe . . . if you figure that some hobo that gets hit by a train probably died of COVID, or some 185-year-old that dies of being 185 probably also died of COVID . . .
“1 in 5 is 66 million dead based on a population of 330 million. So, there’s your truth.”
One ‘loved one’ probably had several that knew and loved them.
The problem is that no one has died of anything else in the last year.
It’s not saying that 1 in 5 died. It’s saying 1 in 5 had someone they consider close die. That seems perfectly believable to me.
Anyone remember EVERY OTHER panic disease out there in our modern day?
- how our lovely news was FULL of footage of folks who were in the throes of suffering? How many times have we seen AIDS patients, barely alive shoved in our faces for effect?
Has ANYONE seen this for the wuhan? Nope.
It’s entirely based on what we are being TOLD about it.
It’s not misleading at all. It’s pretty clear by the title what it means and the article confirms it. Many people just suck with numbers and/or let their rush to be outraged at the MSM cloud their thinking abilities.
One of my sisters and one of my daughters both said they tested positive. When I talked to them and they told me their symptoms it just sounded like the flu. Both recovered in a few days. The fear mongering by media and government is ridiculous!
agreed, if there were 66 millon deaths in the USA from this “virus” then they would be screaming at the top of their lungs.
Fake news, Fake Numbers, Fake Everything that comes out their mouths.
Blessings
66 million know someone who died. A loved one is someone people loved. I bet more than half of that number loved Herman Cain. Maybe all 66M.
Ya know, if Tom Hanks had died from this stuff, close to 100% of Americans would say they lost a loved one. This is garbage.
I had reason to be in the emergency room of the hospital in our little city about a month ago.
I did not see dead bodies stacked up from Covid.
Nobody was there from Covid.
A kid had twisted his wrist.
Another kid had slammed his arm in a car door. That’s what he said.
A young lady with purple hair was there because, well, because she was screaming.
The reality is that if Covid was killing hundreds of thousands of people in this country WHO WOULD NOT HAVE DIED OTHERWISE, then we would see stacks of bodies.
I haven’t seen them.
No one has seen them.
Nowadays people love from afar, I guess, really far.
My thoughts,
60 million is just
Short of
“the Black Plague!”
.
But “Sheeple”
Will Believe it.
Of all of my extensive network of family and friends I know of none who have died from Covids or with Covids. The few who have tested positive were never hospitalized.
“Oh,come on....one person who died could have many people who knew him.......”
Finally...logic!
“Retsrds”
I’m going to
Steal that!
.
