A militia group planned to violently depose Michigan’s government and abduct Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), the FBI said in a federal affidavit filed Thursday.
"Several members talked about murdering 'tyrants' or 'taking' a sitting governor," an FBI agent wrote in the affidavit, obtained by the Detroit News. "The group decided they needed to increase their numbers and encouraged each other to talk to their neighbors and spread their message."
Federal prosecutors plan to make a fuller statement on the alleged plot later Thursday, according to the newspaper.
At least five men have been charged in connection with the alleged plot, identified as Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta, according to the affidavit.

I stand corrected. The first report I read said June 2019, and it made no sense - now I read June 2020. One of them is from Delaware, allegedly. Just keep using allegedly until someone actually is convicted in a court of law. This story is going to be so convoluted by the time it’s over, I am already burned out. Those of us who have actually been paying attention over the past several decades have pretty valid reasons for questioning anything coming out of the FBI, given the tactics that they have admitted to, and even bragged about in the past. The last few years have been a real eye opener for some who haven't really been following the FBI playbook for as long as some of us have.
Frankly, I think it is somewhat naive to accept anything proclaimed by the agency at face value. We have history and facts on our side. The FBI? Yeah, not so much credibility as your average pimp.

Wow! According to the items in the timeline, they were really going to do it. Saw photos of some of them here and there on various news sites. These lockdowns are very questionable. Some pretty learned
people are referencing them as out and out Constitutional
infractions of a major magnitude.
One well known individual called it the biggest infringement
on person rights since slavery.
Whether that’s dead on target or not, people have been
pushed farther than they need be, and this sort of thing
was bound to surface one way or another.
What these guys reportedly wanted to do was an absurdity.
What Whitmer is dgoing is no less of one > IMO.
