The police had time to investigate a BB gun, but not time to stop rioting, looting, and all-around pillaging elsewhere.
“Online learning” needs to be a little less “interactive.”

Events in recent months have served as a reminder of how many snitches, busybodies, and hysterical loons live amongst us. I personally got a new and unpleasant perspective on some acquaintances (not friends) I have known for years. Learned never to trust them and keep my defenses up in the future.
:: And then explained to me that he was here to search for weapons, in my home. And I consented to let him in. ::
I think I can see the problem here...
Not one mention of a search warrant and I bet the cops were relying on the old exigent circumstances to cover their lack of a warrant. Mom ought to be able to figure out now that she needs to cut the ties to public schools in order to truly control the education of her children.
So when your kid is in a virtual class, the teachers see your home as an extension of the school. Since the school is a gun free zone, so is your home and they see a weapon they will send the cops to investigate. That’s outrageous, and another reason to home school.
This is illegal and unjust. The boy should sue the school and the police and be rich for life.
A ‘Peeping Tom’ would be arrested for leering into your window.
Should not a similar rule apply here?
From what I have read from other sources, the officer ASKED to search the home and she gave permission. She should have told the officer to f*** himself and slammed the door.
She could have said, “No, come back with a warrant.”
Baltimore is zimbabwe and is no longer America. Seattle is no longer America. The mayor condones crime and has lost control of her city. She is a she and has no ball.
Her police chief looks sweet but also is a woman with no balls. She has lost control and it will never be regained.
Remember all: The Vampire rule apply to police officers, too.
They cannot cross the threshold to you home (without a warrant), *unless invited in*.
So what happens when the kid stands up at some time during the lesson, and has no clothes below the waist?
Might immediately get an A for the class.

Don’t let CAMERAS into your homes! Zoom, whatever!
Don’t give away your privacy. (what’s left of it)
Recommend response for interaction w police who arrive unbidden at
your property: first, do not open the door. Secure your phone or tablet and begin video recording. Open a window to initiate verbal contact. Use a second story window if possible. Ask the officer politely
to state their business. Allow them to speak. Ask is that all? That may prompt them to speak more. Your goal here is to gather information, not
give it. Now youve documented their case, which warrants you to reply There is no emergency here. I fully intend to cooperate, officer, as soon as Ive spoken to my attorney. Please leave your card and Ill have my attorney contact you. Then close the window. Youve now gathered the information you need to share with an attorney or trusted advisor.
Couple of points here: you establish that there is no imminent threat, that you are not uncooperative and that youve asked to consult an attorney before answering further questions. And you can skip asking for the warrant. If they had a warrant theyd announce that from the start. Be circumspect in your interactions with police. This link is to a videot that is a bit long but is an excellent law school lecture on why you dont talk freely to the police:
Note that the advice above is for the circumstances in the story posted by the OP, ie where you are the focus of the police inquiry. If the cops say they are looking for a burglar then you of course dont have to lawyer up.
She lost me at “ I let him in”.
