Courtney says she was home with her son whos been doing virtual learning since schools shut down in March.
So, I answered the door. The police officer was, he was very nice. He explained to me that he was coming to address an issue with my son's school, Courtney told Project Baltimore. And then explained to me that he was here to search for weapons, in my home. And I consented to let him in. And then I, unfortunately, stood there and watched police officers enter my 11-year-old son's bedroom.
Courtney was told someone had seen the guns in her sons bedroom during a Google Meet class on his laptop.
I thought, this is outrageous. This is despicable, she said. I had no idea what in the world could this be over? BB guns never even once entered my mind. How many 11-year-old boys have BB guns?
According to emails Courtney later exchanged with a school administrator, a screenshot was taken during the online class. The principal of Seneca Elementary was notified. Courtney says she was told the school safety officer then called police.

Are kids required to join these Google Meet sessions? Does the school district supply webcams if the family doesn't have one? Somebody should be fired or disciplined, but you know how public schools are.

The police had time to investigate a BB gun, but not time to stop rioting, looting, and all-around pillaging elsewhere.

“Online learning” needs to be a little less “interactive.”

Events in recent months have served as a reminder of how many snitches, busybodies, and hysterical loons live amongst us. I personally got a new and unpleasant perspective on some acquaintances (not friends) I have known for years. Learned never to trust them and keep my defenses up in the future.

I think I can see the problem here...

You need to have a good look at what is behind you and be sure what you are putting on the net. Book titles, porn, political. Etc etc.

“May I see the warrant please?”
Our good old “zero tolerance” tax funded government schools strike again.

Not one mention of a search warrant and I bet the cops were relying on the old exigent circumstances to cover their lack of a warrant. Mom ought to be able to figure out now that she needs to cut the ties to public schools in order to truly control the education of her children.

So when your kid is in a virtual class, the teachers see your home as an extension of the school. Since the school is a gun free zone, so is your home and they see a weapon they will send the cops to investigate. That’s outrageous, and another reason to home school.

This is illegal and unjust. The boy should sue the school and the police and be rich for life.

Right on that one! If the schools can invade your home and negate your rights, what do you suppose they are doing to your children’s minds, DAILY!

That is correct and this is why, no matter how honest or willing to do the right thing any individual policeman is, they always become jack boots of the government in times of crisis.
History has proven this point time and time again.

.a screen shot was taken during the online class.
"The telescreen recieved and transmitted simultaneously. Any sound Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper, would be picked up by it; moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well as heard.
There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment.
How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork.
It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to.
You had to live - did live, from habit that became instinct - in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized.

A ‘Peeping Tom’ would be arrested for leering into your window.
Should not a similar rule apply here?

You need to have a good look at what is behind you and be sure what you are putting on the net. Very true. But if you're a Kennedy, a framed picture of Che is OK.
