Has patriotism been bred out of today's Americans?
wnd.com ^ | 4/2/2019 | Mychal Massie

The worst fears of our Founding Fathers have become reality. Two things the founders were unable to protect our great republic from were the evil machinations of corrupt men and an inbred craven citizenry. Thus, both of these illegitimate vagrancies have led America to the very precipice of destruction vis-a-vis the satanic transmogrification of government – a precipice, I might add, President Trump for the moment has spared us from going over.

During our Revolutionary War, only 17 percent of the people were supportive of the fight for independence from England. But those 17 percent carried the day until the others found their spines. The others were willing to live as overtaxed, oppressed wards of an unseen tyrannical government.

People today are the anthropomorphic likeness of a toothless old dog. They’re willing to bark from time-to-time but only until a menacing voice shouts “be quiet.” Few things offend me more than hand-wringers who blubber, “What can we do?” That includes the “Facebook warriors” who think clicking “like” and/or leaving a five to 10 word response to a post is synonymous with being engaged.

I thank God for President Trump, because for this moment he is showing men how to be men and citizens how to be patriotic.

In today’s educational environments, patriotism is considered racist, and thus to be eradicated from young skulls.

At its core, patriotism is the idea that there exists a nation, and that this nation is special and to be loved, and that this nation is to be defended against all others.

This idea is incompatible with multi-culturalism. You cannot have patriotism, and tolerate loyalty to other nations.

Bred no.

Trained yes.

Not entirely but certainly any kid in public school is being taught to be ashamed, not proud, of America.

Yes, once the Left gets power back, and they will, eventually, even if we get 8 years of President Pence after Trump, they will go full bore communist. They will destroy the nation like Venezuela, Zimbabwe and Cuba...........................

I don’t expect much from Pence. He’s a nice guy. So was Jimmy Carter.

Amongst many Millenials, the answer is sadly yes.

I talk to a lot of them. Many of them have bought into this “citizen of the world” crap. Others think that if America was really the greatest country it would be providing them with free college tuition and health care. Others actually think that they’d prefer being European due to the elevated level of social benefits there. And many who are minorities have been raised to carry racial chips on their shoulders.

Mission Accomplished for the Publik Skrool Sistem.

Every able-bodied high school graduate (or drop-out) should be made to go through basic training at least. And learn how to stand at attention and salute the flag. While they’re at it, a class in early American history wouldn’t hurt either.

Bred out? nope.

The effort has been to educate it out.

There’s a reason that socialist pushed universal education, and then took over the education industry.

Any and all benefits to the country have been purely collateral and temporary.

You have to consider the social circle of Mychal Massie.

If that social circle is a bunch of soy boys then the answer to the question is yes.

I would venture that the real answer is no and the title question was merely rhetorical which he proves as such in his critique of the rest of America in the body of the article.

His mind was already made up. He merely wants to convince everybody else that he's right.

Even here on FreeRepublic we cannot get agreement on upholding the Constitutional restriction of natural born citizen only for President.

Natural born citizen was chosen to restrict the office to those who were naturally Americans because they could not possibly be anything else.
Born here of citizen parents.

People who claim to be conservative want to make Anwar al-Awlaki’s kids eligible just because their favorite Cubanadian is ineligible.

Lets see....

We started screwing our Military to the wall in Korea. Our politicians have been screwing the American people since Johnson. And, the media has been lying to us since at least the cold war.

The fundamental basis of patriotism has been eroded. We are on two generations of ‘no trophy’, everyone wins youth.

The American people will have to suffer greatly to regain their stomach and spine. We will do it, but its going to hurt.

I’ll reserve judgment not on the thrust of the article,
but the hair-on-fire bombast the author seems to think
is needed to get across a point. The heat to light ratio
is enormous.

My take based on nearly 72 years is, if you weren't born and raised here, you don't understand. I guess the last 30 or 40 years has ruined that. 😳☹️

Get back to basics in order that our grandchildren may enjoy their Creator-endowed lives, rights, and liberties!

Creator-Endowed Rights – The Foundation of America’s Constitution

Founding Fathers"We hold these truths to be self-evident...all men are... endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men."
Our Declaration of Independence acknowledges a Creator as the source of the unalienable rights that governments are formed to secure. This acknowledgement was the very foundation of the Constitution of the United States of America. What are those unalienable rights with which we are endowed? They may be described in many ways, but English jurist Sir William Blackstone wrote in 1766, "these may be reduced to three principal articles:
  1. the right of personal security (life);
  2. the right of personal liberty; and,
  3. the right of private property.."
America's written Constitution was to protect and secure God-given individual rights to life, liberty, and property. If we ever allow this foundation to be eroded and lose faith that these rights are a gift directly from God to each individual, then we lose the basis of the greatness of the miracle of America.

Even worse, are those who incessantly whine that, "All is lost".

Defeatistism is contagious.
