Were you happy wit Bush’s Dubia Port deal?
Did u speak out against that specific issue?
Or were u silent?
Those of us that spoke out all over the nation
stopped that crazy idea.
Those that remained silent changed nothing.
Even if this was Trumps plan all along,
the outrage on this specific issue may have
given Trump the reinforcement he needed
to continue on his plan.
Those that remained silent changed nothing.

I understand how you feel and agree somewhat. Trump is something that we have never had before, an honest broker. They are not used to his methods and strategy I believe that in time they will become familiar with how he operates.

I have been in his corner since he rode down the escalator and declared his commitment to run. I am an old New Yorker who is used to seeing Trump win, many people here are not. I do believe that with each passing victory Trump’s support become stronger and less likely to flip or panic.

Can we agree to disagree? :-)

I think it was the way we all reacted. That we all still card. I tweeted him and said I was very disappointed ...I’m sure others did too. ..and then then Ann coulters said no re election without the boarder wall. Maybe he heard us. And unlike the rest for Washington actually listened to us.

Since when do you need 60 votes on a spending bill?

My guess would be cloture, not passage.

Poor Shep on Fox just now, blaming us, Trump supporters, for Trump’s turnabout on signing the funding bill without wall funding.

The Fox Pentagon reporter was even more vile. Smearing Trump as giving Putin a Christmas present on Syria. Looks like all that botox caused some damage to her face and brain. Or she had a stroke. Maybe I shouldn’t be so critical.

Well, I think that is true. There are others that think this was his plan all along. Either way, it looks like he is going to fight. 👍

Trump said on live TV he wasn't signing it - and isn't... just as he said.

Whatever Trump said on tv prior to yesterday, doesn't change the fact that he began sending some very confusing signals about funding the wall, over the last week or so.

His statements about finding the money in the DOD budget, having the military build the wall, being indefinite on the full amount of money he'd accept - all created the impression in the public's mind that he'd gone squishy in this fight.

It's why the GoFundMe effort was launched. It's why Freepers and conservatives across the country blew up the internet about it.

Now you want to tell me that none of that heat had any bearing on Trump re-stiffening his spine? Uh, yeah. It did.

See what I mean? Not only mentioning his name on a post that has absolutely nothing to do with him then playing the passive aggressive with the language. I hate passive aggressive with a passion. Either be passive or be aggressive, not both. The cutesy names are a nice touch too. I could care less where his wife works. I worked as a VP at JP Morgan Chase I’m evil too I guess. He’s been a great supporter of our President but yet again this has NOTHING to do with the esteemed Senator or his wife. And wtf does his wife have to do with this again?

Oh that’s right she’s the wife of a man that was in a primary years ago.

What is confusing you? I see in the thread and all that you cannot fathom why people screamed No! to Trump folding on the wall funding. Your binary and lemming-like follow Trump regardless of what he does is short-sighted at best. People can criticize and still support Trump, for example. Sorry if you cannot imagine or accept that. Give it some consideration. Heck, even poor Shep on FOX is crediting Trump's turnabout to his supporter's collective scream No.

And you should read thread histories before accusing people of being Never Trumpers. If you were around enough or frequently enough you'd recognize names and realize that many of us are early supporters, some of the first backing Trump.

Before you trash more people with bullying and insults, why don't you read Jim's post from yesterday: http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3713751/posts. Besides, look below the text box where you write your comments. It is clear: NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts.

> I don’t think Trump changed his mind.

Agreed. Methinks POTUS is using tactics from "The Art of War", leveraging surprise and the Christmas break to his advantage.

I held off against posting against his apparent cave since, after observing Trump for a while, I felt something like this would happen.

There’s quite a difference between “D@mmit, now we’re P.I’d” and “Oh noes, Drumpf has abandoned us, I knew he would.”
The 1st is legit, the 2nd quite possibly a demoralization troll.

"Hey negative Nelly, since you spewed new math from your blowhole the fund has reached 6 million and its growth is accelerating...."

..... Would love to see this exceed the crowdfunding for the current record holder which is the EOS Blockchain Project at $4 Billion. It would make a gigantic statement to all of America and the world about how serious many of us feel about the wall that we are absolutely willing and not afraid to put our money where our mouth is .....

What does Pelosi’s husband have to do with it or Babs Boxer’s husband where they launder the bribes. Both have made hundreds of millions from sweetheart deals.

What does his wife making millions off GS as a VP of South American investment have to do with corruption?? Nothing I hope, but in DC I doubt it is a coincidence.

His silence is deafening when he ran on the border. Guess I pegged you as a Cruzie correctly as well as a NeverTrumper. Not exactly like picking the numbers in the lottery.

So far the guy you hate is fighting in the foxhole alone for you.

Screw that. Trump is doing exactly what he always has, by misleading, feinting as needed to maximize outcomes.

I, too, tweeted my desire for President Trump to veto this bill, but I would not have abandoned my support for him, in any case. There are things going on behind the scenes, of which we know nothing. I have to trust he is moving on our behalf. Will be be victorious against the behemoth swamp? Only with God’s help. For those who want to drop him cold, I have to wonder...who would you think would take his place? Sure, Pence, but if he tried to fight for Trumps agenda, they’d dump him, too. I don’t know about you, but the the words, “President Pelosi” , are un-utterable

>>> Ok folks...send el Trumpo an attaboy

https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ <<<

Done!

{{{ Q sent me!

Mr. President,

Build The Wall! (and if you must) Shut It Down!

While you are at it, please consider bending Paul Ryan over your
knees, pulling down his pants enough to expose his buttocks, and
whipping his behind out on the front lawn of the White House.

And deputize Rep. Louis Gohmert- This man will fight!

Please know that the Tea Party filled the streets of DC, with over a
million people, in defiance and protest of the usurper Obama’s rogue
edicts. We The People, and your stalwart Deplorables, ARE FED UP
(especially- with the BACKSTABBING GOPe) and are ready to fill the
streets yet again, with another STRONGER message.

We’ve got your back! (don’t go wobbly on us)

Respectfully sent for your consideration,

***** ****** }}}

Here's what I think happened:

1. Trump had been playing hardball with the GOP leadership over this for some time -- probably weeks or months.

2. They basically either ignored him or pleaded with him with the excuse that they didn't have enough votes to deliver $5 billion in wall funding.

3. So as time ran down this week, Trump's people told him that he has no power over Congress because THEY have to pass the funding bills. Trump knew he couldn't act unilaterally.

4. So he sits down with some key advisers and comes up with a plan. "Hey, Senators," he says (indirectly) through a Twitter message last night, "If you don't want to protect our borders, then we're not protecting Syria's borders either. I may not have the authority to pass a spending bill on my own, but I AM the Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces."

5. The Senate goes ballistic last night and today.

6. Here's what I think the next message is going to be: "If this wall isn't funded by the time the Democrats take over the House in January it's never going to be funded ... so my next decision on December 31st will be to bring the troops home from Afghanistan."
