I'm writing to the Chairman & RM of Judiciary Cmte respectfully recommending that at Monday’s hearing, counsel for Prof. Ford be allocated time to question Judge Kavanaugh & counsel for the Judge be granted equal time to question Prof. Ford, followed by questions from Senators.

Why don’t you call in the Captiol Building’s Janitor, the 1965 senior class of Podunk High, and dig up McLame while you’re at it to question Judge Kavanaugh?

I think Susan Collins has a very good idea.
The only thing it's encouraging, is dragging this fiasco out longer than necessary, putting the Judge under cross-examination by an unsworn Congressional office holder, and giving the Dems exactly what they want. They'll be setting a horrible precedent by allowing this to take place.
It is remarkable how often people here post without understanding what they are talking about.
Collins is suggesting that the lawyer of the JUDGE be questioned. She did not ask that the lawyer for the PERFESSOR be questioned.
At least we're seeing the truth of what sort of government we live under now.
She suggested that time be alloted for Ford's attorney to question Kavanaugh, and for Kavanugh's attorney to question Ford.
Prof. Ford either shows up Monday morning to answer questions under oath, or her allegations get disregarded and the committee moves immediately to a vote.
How about having all the women who wrote the letter supporting kavanaugh come in and testify —ONE BY ONE!!!!
No way!!! Let the Senators do the questioning as they are then accountable for the questions. DO NOT LET THEM DELEGATE THIS TO LAWYERS THAT THEY CAN THEN BLAME WHEN IT GOES WRONG OR BAD.

Susan Collins is a knee jerk libtard. Emphasis on the “jerk”. She is really, REALLY stupid, almost making the Maxine Waters grade of stupid, and that’s saying something. So, what does that make the people who keep voting this intellectually challenged yahoo in? She cares nothing for this Ford woman personally, she’s just in love with the “woman who was done wrong” theme—anything “woman” themed, instead of spending her time (and limited intellect) on more weighty issues. In this, she shares a cubicle with the waste of salary Kirsten Gillibrand of NY. Ironically, in championing “women’s issues” instead of those of economy, defense, national sovereignty, etc., these women aggravate the issue, giving a public demonstration of women + fluff being inexorably connected.
She’s something else.
Mrs Ford will also be questioned Kavanaugh lawyer. Rumor has it Mr Kavanaugh hired a very good lawyer and she is a she. Does anyone think our spineless GOP Senators will question Mrs Ford effectively? Kavanaugh lawyer will be all over her. This is a smart move. I hope GOP Senators will also be allow to yield their time to Mr Kavanaugh lawyer.
If she doesn’t vote to confirm, her career needs to be snuffed out.
No, she doesn’t. Senators want the questioning without potential risk of the questions falling on the senators themselves. If they have to ask the questions, they are accountable for the questions. They want the hearing, let them ask the questions!
Oddly enough, while my initial reaction was like most of all of yours, I can’t help but wonder if this wouldn’t be a good thing. Judge Kavanaugh has indicated that he is not the least bit concerned about facing this accusation. This would give his lawyer the opportunity to question this woman under Oath. SHE is the only one who would be reluctant to appear.
Just a thought.
The easiest way out of this for THE SENATORS is for her to decline the hearing.
