House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes said Sunday that there will be hell to pay including impeachment for top Justice Department officials if the agency fails this week to give Congress documents about an FBI informant used to spy on the Trump campaign.
We cant force the resignation, but we can hold in contempt, we can pass resolutions, we can impeach. I think were getting close to there, Nunes said of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News Sunday Morning Futures.
Nunes has battled Rosenstein for months over other documents related to the Russia investigation.
The Justice Department and FBI stalled for months to provide information about the Steele dossier as well as about a secret surveillance warrant taken out against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
The most recent standoff concerns Nunes request for documents related to a longtime FBI and CIA source who the bureau tasked to meet with three Trump campaign advisers, including Page.

That’s President Trump to you.
Yeah, baby...
Sessions LOVES Rod (and the fey Wray).
Impeachment in the House does not guarantee conviction in the Senate.
But, if RR is impeached in the House, it would be hard to imagine that same House turning around and trying to impeach Trump if Trump decided to let RR go.
The boom is getting lowered this week.
Which side will be chowing down on crow nuggets here on free republic?
Stay tuned.
The internet is alive with Ryan attempting to do an end around of United States citizens on the subject of immigration.
He must have left his balls in Singapore. The top of Justice and FBI out of control. he is responsible.
Are there ANY White Hats in Congress? Sometimes I really wonder. Those who might first come to mind must be sitting on their ten-gallon special made hats. Layin’ low like Die Fledermaus.
I’m sure Trump is getting enormous pressure from congressional Pubs and others not to fire Rosenstein or Mueller. But if he’s impeached that would give him cover to fire him.
Don’t hold your breath.
Yeah, and if Trump had made him gone they would have impeached Trump.
“Impeachment in the House does not guarantee conviction in the Senate.”
This is an important point. I can’t see this Senate impeaching Rosenstein. Thus Rosenstein stays unless Trump decides to fire him.
.
Congressman Nunes, please take out a slew of judges at the same time. Thank you.
If that is the scene I’m thinking of, from the movie I’m thinking of, it is highly ironic to see it coming rom *your* screen name...
Yawn.

Better for the House to impeach him, if they can.
The House gets their base fired up for the mid-terms.
The Democrats cant yell Obstruction! at President Trump.

My thoughts exactly
The cynical part of me thinks this is all theater to fire up the voters for the election. Afterward they'll tone it down. Go back to passing omnibus bills which nobody understands and doing whatever it is that politicians do.
So does anyone know what ‘impeach’ means in this context, and what the possible results are (firing, jailing, etc.)?
