I think the point is that according to the Watergate 9-0 Supreme Court decision, there is no executive privilege in cases of impeachment. So if the House votes to impeach (simple majority), the House gets all the documents they have been requesting plus any additional ones discovered, so that they can make their case for the trial. Of course the Senate would likely not impeach, but the people would find out the facts, and red wave time. Surf's up!
Nope. It was politically unwise. If the cite for contempt or impeach that gives potus the opening he needs to replace Rosenstein

I’m guessing another strongly worded letter.
Multistep strategy, with indirection. Would take some time to make it happen, but...
Devious and clever.
Yes and no. Yes, Trump wants him gone and no he
won’t fire Rosenstein for the same reason he won’t fire
Mueller and end this nothingburger for good. There will
be massive blowback, it will feed the cause of the Demo
Congressional campaign, and it will preclude him from
going after the criminals who instigated this farce.
My current favorite Congressman and fellow Cal Poly

I never knew bubble bath was sooooo available in the Old Italian West.
I’ll have to watch Back to the Future III now.
Drink more Qvaltine!
Thank you
Probably suring-up support and hoping the threat will be enough to get the documents. If the House Republicans move to impeach, the Democrats will be celebrating up to the point they find out who would be impeached. Just seeing the look on their faces at that moment would make impeaching Rosenstein worth it.
Good point.
But I don't see Paul Ryan on board wanting to impeach Rosenstein.
!
Bingo.
A lot of election year emotions here.
A friend of mine on the GOP mailing lists has gotten four fundraising letters from Congressman Nunes in the last four months.
How convenient.
Does anyone go to jail for this?
No.
Do the Republicans use this to get themselves elected again this fall?
Yes.
I voted for Donald J. Trump to shake up the Republican Party, not to endorse it members in the House.
“Im guessing another strongly worded letter.”
Understandable answer, but maybe a bit more this time:
1) They get all documents, finally.
2) It becomes VERY EASY, politically, to axe whoever gets impeached.
I think that’s why the thought of impeachment actually does worry the Deep State.
You go Devin!
