3500 years ago slaves toiling in the harsh mines of the Sinai scribbled some graffiti on the desert rocks. One of them wrote: "Moses then provoked astonishment." That, plus a lot of other inscriptions, deserve more than a passing glance.
------
"He sought occasion to cut away to barrenness our great number, our swelling without measure." (Sinai 349)
"Our bond servitude had lingered. Moses then provoked astonishment. It is a year of astonishment." (Sinai 361)
Anyone familiar with the book of Exodus will immediately spot parallels with the account of Pharaoh's attempt to reduce the number of newborn Israelites; and the subsequent actions of Moses.

I have here 15 *crash* — um 10 Commandments!
Fascinating...thanks for posting it!
That’s an obscure reference, but a good one.
Although the subjects and articles found in the American Thinker are good, I am afraid I am going to have to avoid all such. The ads are so persistent and so intrusive that they actually crash my browser. This happens both with FireFox and IceDragon.
I've been waiting 36 years for Hitler on Ice, a Viking Funeral, and Jews in Space.
We did get the Star Wars parody in 1987...
Found also among the inscriptions: Moses supposes his toeses are roses...
The music to “Jews in Space” was used for the there to “Men in Tights.”
Gorge Lucas loved Spaceballs so much he contributed film to it (the escape pods sequence among others).
Lol!
Im just really sad that LA taggers dont have that level of vocabulary. TGM. Tagging Grammar Matters.
I use Firefox with Adblock Plus as an extension - no ads, not slowing, and no problems with that site. In fact very few websites give me any trouble, not even Breitbart.com.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
Note: You can and probably should cut and paste any link you find on the Internet, even on FR, rather than blindly following for a high-risk action like downloading software. Alternatively, you can search on “firefox adblock plus Mozilla” and take the link to the known mozilla.org website.
Moses didn’t write the Torah. G-d did.
I'm not sure how this does away with JEPD. I was very slow to recognize that the Torah is a compilation, but I have. But that fact that it is a compilation doesn't mean that the narratives in it are false. In fact, if separate groups of Hebrews have legends about what obviously describe the same event (e.g. the exodus from Egypt) each tends to confirm the other.

I used to use FireFox with AdBlock, but unfortunately, it developed the bad bahavior of not allowing me to shut down the browser by clicking on the "X" at upper right of the window. The only way I could close down the brower was via Task Manager "End Task".
That is why I switched to IceDragon in the first place.
Unfortunately, on installing the latest version per your recommendation, I find it still exhibits that same bad behavior.
I have never heard of that outcome. Sorry my suggestion didn’t help.
> Moses didnt write the Torah. G-d did.
Moses wrote the five books by Divine dictation. Every word in them was dictated to Moses by G-d Himself.
Deut. 33:2
“And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.”
Talmud Yerushalmi Shelamim 6:1, 49d
“R. Simeon ben Lakish said: The Torah given to Moses was written with black fire upon white fire, sealed with fire, and swathed with bands of fire.”
> Deut. 33:2
And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.
Talmud Yerushalmi Shelamim 6:1, 49d
R. Simeon ben Lakish said: The Torah given to Moses was written with black fire upon white fire, sealed with fire, and swathed with bands of fire.
Thank you for the quote. I learn the Divine Code 99% of the time. It is always interesting to hear what the Talmud says.
Ah, but it DID help. Icedragon is based on FireFox, so I tried the AdBlock extension in Icedragon, and that DID work just fine. Still have to see how it behaves long-term, but preliminary is promising.
