I used to use FireFox with AdBlock, but unfortunately, it developed the bad bahavior of not allowing me to shut down the browser by clicking on the "X" at upper right of the window. The only way I could close down the brower was via Task Manager "End Task".

That is why I switched to IceDragon in the first place.

Unfortunately, on installing the latest version per your recommendation, I find it still exhibits that same bad behavior.

I have never heard of that outcome. Sorry my suggestion didn’t help.

Have you tried Brave?

Eats a lot of memory but no pop ups.
