As the Senate Judiciary Committee was hearing from witnesses for and against Judge Neil Gorsuch, his Supreme Court nomination was delivered a critical blow: Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) said he would join with other Democrats in filibustering Gorsuch — a move that would require at least 60 senators to vote to end debate on the nomination.

Yup... R’s were open to playing fair this round, and expecting a filibuster for the next justice (after Gorsuch).
No, nuke option should be applied for BOTH (and any additional Trump/Pence SCOTUS noms)

The Repubs need to invoke the nuclear option now, because if they don’t, you can be damn sure the Dems will next time they have control of the Senate.
They’re the ones who first used the nuclear option, and they’re sure to use it again.

This should end the filibuster once and for all. The destruction of the Senate began a century ago. It will be finalized with the end of the filibuster. They are now just another House of Representatives with longer terms.

Stupid Dems. After Gorsuch is confirmed by 52 GOP votes, the next selection, after Ginsburg leaves, may be far more conservative than Gorsuch and the Dems won’t be able to stop him/her since the precedent for the nuclar option has been set.
