GOPe Conservative Pundits Should Relocate to Realville
American Thinker ^ | June 11, 2016 | J. Robert Smith

Posted on 06/11/2016 4:43:32 PM PDT by Kaslin

Realville, as Rush often says, is where he lives. That’s a place without blinkers or rose-colored glasses. That’s actually where we all live, though some of us prefer to deny it. That is, until reality bites. Then our wishful thinking or willful ignorance dashes upon the hard rock of unforgiving reality. The crackup always smarts.

Thus is the case with the 2016 presidential election. There’s Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. In other words, there’s Column A and Column B. That’s the choice. Column C is fairyland.

Come November, tens of millions of voters will flock to the polls to choose between The Donald and Hillary. There may or may not be a David French wannabe on ballots. That’s a Bill Kristol-Rich Lowry prop-up independent for angst-ridden establishment Republicans and conservative purists to write-in. The hope being that enough votes can be parked in Column C in enough key battleground states to elect Hillary. No? It’s just about stopping Dark Donald, say you? Reality dictates a practical consequence. Stopping Trump elects Hillary.

Yet the aforementioned #NeverTrump rump cannot prevail in a Column C ploy. It’s a conceit invested in a vain hope: to wit, that there are more right and establishment leaning voters who share their disgust for Trump than is actually the case. Running an independent is essentially masturbatory.

A sideshow won’t succeed in a year when the main event is drawing attention like a supercharged magnet. Whatever the lament from the GOP’s gray flannel suits, the Trump-Hillary square off is where voters want to be, skin in the game, money down.

They are NOT Conservative pundits no matter how much they try to wrap themselves in Liberty’s skirts.

I hope those pundits stay gone. And as for them being “conservative”...

People need to focus on the bottom line: anyone not supporting Trump, for whatever good-sounding reason, is helping Hillary become president.

They want to vote for and publicly support Hillary. They can certainly vote their conscience, but that isn’t good enough, they want to win. Since their careers are OVER if they publicly support Hillary, they have to get sneaky about it and go for a spoiler.

Therefore, any public support for a candidate who is not the choice of the primary voters, is public support for Hillary, and must be treated as such.

GOPe “conservative” pundits work for The Cheap Labor Express.
They would rather Hillary win.

The people pipeline is paramount.

I’m so fed up with these people. I tweeted this to Bill Kristol this morning: @Bill Kristol - Please do us all a favor and suffer in silence.

They’re (establishment on both sides) realizing just how ineffective they really are, despite their deep pockets. This election is an outright indictment of everything that they stand for and everything they intend. They will ruin themselves as they refuse to change.

Thanks Kaslin. If the self-described conservative pundits can't live with this outcome, they need to consider taking the other way out -- and I don't mean finally coming out of the closet and switching parties, as George Will would do if there weren't so much money in his phony party label.

I don’t think electing Hillary is the goal of the GOPe with their hoped for write-in candidate, what they are hoping to do is to take enough electoral votes from both HRC and from Trump to put the election into the House where the GOP majority will put Bush, Romney, or Ryan into the White House. That is the goal, they don’t need their GOPe candidate on the ballot in every state, just enough states where their candidate has a chance of winning, so no candidate gets the requisite number of electoral votes. If they cannot succeed at this, then pulling enough votes from Trump to give the electoral votes to Hillary is their second choice, with the idea that if they can rout Trump, they can run one of their own (Bush/Romney/Ryan, etc) in 2020, and banish the conservative movement from any semblance of power.

They are not as smart as they think they are, however, because the Republican party will cease to exist if they sabotage Trump and they won’t have any power of any sort.

Some of these pundits want Hillary to win because people are more interested in what they have to say when a crooked Democrat is in the White House.

‘Since their careers are OVER if they publicly support Hillary, they have to get sneaky about it and go for a spoiler.’

Well said. There aren’t many true purists in the pundit class — if any. The writer of this piece is naive.

Imagine the money at stake. This is the biggest gravy train that crooked cronies ever had a chance to wallow in.

And the most corrupt of the republicans can sit on the fence and hold out for the biggest payoff.

I remember when Judicial Watch’s founder, Larry Klayman, kept trying to warn everyone that both parties were corrupt. That ultimately led me and others to turn against him over attacks against Cheney.

I no longer care whether I was right or wrong at that time in history — Klayman deserves a fresh look, a chance to be heard.

And now we have a chance to see things the way Klayman did back in the 90s, and ONE chance to drive a wooden stake through the vampire’s heart.

Eh, not Klayman’s heart. Uh, well, whatever. Vampire hunting can be so tedious.
