Newt Gingrich said Friday that "you have to look at it very seriously, of course" regarding the possibility of being presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump's running mate.

"I regard Donald as an old friend," Gingrich, the former Georgia representative who was House speaker from 1995 to 1999, told Bill O'Reilly on Fox News...

Newsmax reported Tuesday that Gingrich topped Trump's list of possible vice presidential choices. The developer said that he was seeking a partner while deep experience within Washington who could help him "with legislation, getting things through."

"There are a lot of very good candidates who know a great deal," Gingrich told O'Reilly...

>> I just hope he remembers to privately advise and publicly keep his mouth shut <<

You actually believe that Newt would never leak to his buddies in the MSM and would keep his mouth shut?

Newt, of all people in the USA?

Gimme a break. What are you smoking?

I’d like to see him as CoS but he’s 72. Isn’t that a VERY busy job for someone his age?

So did he bring papers for her to sign or didn’t he? Would have been helpful if Cushman had said one way or the other.

Veep Joe Biden is going to be 74. Still sharp (for him) under the plugs.... and he gets around perfectly well on an active VP schedule, often overseas.

However, I do think Chief of Staff should be a much younger person because of the grind of unrelenting hours, duties and responsibilities....but I could readily accept Newt as a Veep for four years...although he's tentatively my second choice at the moment. He would be an experienced and stable anchor to President Trump.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I happen to like Mr. Gingrich, so I’m happy to hear that is the whole story.

I actually prefer Sarah Palin myself.

But I think it’s payback time for her, and she can serve her revenge (as they say: revenge is best served cold) heading up some of these alphabet agencies - getting rid of them one by one...

No. Newt would not accept this position. He would do more for Trump as his Chief of Staff.

Cheney was a great campaign speaker in 2000. I remember his hearty “help is on the way!” refrain at the convention. Apparently Cruz does, too~~

Nope, not Cruz. Trump has determined that Cruz is damaged goods due to his being a lying, dishonest, two-faced, back-stabbing, unethical, psychological freak who is universally hated by his peers in the Senate.

Imagine the pundits proclaiming: "Donald Trump names Lyin' Ted as his VP."

Open-borders Kasich who eats like a slob? Imagine him at a White House soirée. “Disgusting”

Well I would hope that fact puts Hunter ahead of Gingrich in the veepstakes. I would not be happy with both a POTUS and veep who had never served. Since I am one hundred percent for Trump, in my book that means he needs a vet as his running mate.
