Since Obuma was elected to POTUS, I have been coming to Free Republic to get news, opinions and a few laughs. Most of the serious posts were bemoaning the out of control government and what could be done about it. "Oh Whoa is Me!". Then along comes a constitutional conservative. For the first time since Ronald Reagan, we have a constitutional candidate running for the GOP nomination. This man was elected by conservatives to go to Washington and stand up to the elites that no longer listen to the American people. He didn't go to Washington and "fall in" with the crowd. He went there and stood up to them just like he said it would - calling a spade a spade. I'm sorry, but I don't understand how otherwise intelligent people can fall for the likes of Donald Trump. This man was donating to the same people we were fighting to throw out of office the last eight years. Suddenly he is a conservative after years of joining with the liberals to promote big fat bloated government. He is not an outsider. He has been greasing the palms of the slime bags in Washington for 30 years. He can't even define what conservatism is. Wake up America. You are no better than the sycophants that suck up to Obuma. You can't see that Trump is just pushing your buttons with his rhetoric - just like Obuma pushed his sycophants buttons. The hate I see on Free Republic for Ted Cruz, Mark Levin and all the other great conservative leaders remind me of liberal websites. It is disgusting.

A lot of people have been on this forum for a lot longer than that and post even less. How many times you post has nothing to do with how much of the content you personally absorb.
I just happen to be a big mouth so I post a lot but certainly don’t hold it against anyone or their opinions because they don’t.
I agree. I will be voting for Trump and working for Trump hard if he is the nominee.
The ultimate goal is defeating them. The time is critical to beat them.
But this thread is about FR not Trump or Cruz or whoever.
The point is many, maybe a majority, have turned on conservatives and have ridiculed, belittled, shamed and attempted for force them off this forum. Frankly, it’s been incredible to watch what the average FReeper has turned into (myself too in some cases I must admit).
But yet I have great hope, because, just like the Bushes, eventually we tossed the stars off of our eyes and questioned how we were hoodwinked and refused to remain quiet.
Those days are coming again.
If you can accept that, you will feel comfortable with the new FR. If you are here to promote the Old Guard, the greatness of the Bush Family, you might want to turn tail fast.

I have a question for you. Have any of DT’s businesses contributed to making America great again? Are they the kind of businesses that you want? Why hasn’t he gotten into mfg since the first time he talked about becoming president almost 30 years ago? (1988 on oprah) What effect did his businesses have on Atlantic City and other towns where his endeavors were the mainstay?

Do you remember that in 2015 right after he announced his candidacy that he said he with oprah would make an unstoppable team? Since he takes no ones advice, maybe we should really listen to him.
Did you know he testified before a Congressional committee on the economy in 1991? He said the incentive to invest was taken away under Reagan in 1986. He wanted the real estate business helped and funded Frank Dodd who was partner to the real estate bubble.
