Breaking: Cruz Negotiating With Trump for VP Spot

A high ranking Cruz campaign official has told Elect Leaders that Sen. Cruz is in negotiations with Mr. Trump to become his Vice Presidential Nominee after Rubio dropped out Tuesday. Sen. Cruz has been the most consistent performer in primaries behind Trump. They are seeing the writing on the wall and want to negotiate from a point of strength which will evaporate over time.

The official stated Mr. Trump is interested in using Sen. Cruz’s ground game in the general election, likes his appeal to the conservative base and his stance on immigration. Of the other options for VP none hold as strong of an opinion on immigration outside of Governor Jan Brewer from Arizona who is also being considered.

Senator Cruz in exchange for his support is wanting to be named to the Supreme Court if an opening occurs while Mr. Trump is president. Mr. Trump does not see this as an issue and a small price to pay to bring Sen. Cruz his fundraisers, donors and staff on board

... Let's not pretend that Trump is doing anything for anyone but himself.

He's not doing it for himself; we wouldn't even be discussing stopping illegal immigration and Moslem infiltration except for Trump. He is giving up lots of his own potential income to run and unlike Cruz, Trump is not flooding my inbox with pleas for money.

...although there is that issue of NBC lingering.

Yeah, about that. So how does Trump agree to a VP who he himself as publicly said on multiple occasions was not constitutionally qualified to be president? And who he has, in fact, threatened to sue over over his eligibility? How does he walk that one back?

I don't know that he does; it may need to be litigated; it would only be for the sake of necessity and not to lose the First and Second Amendments in the next four years.

Just wait. Trump's "self-funding" is a sham - he has just been loaning money to the campaign, and then charging the campaign for office space, airfare, etc. And if he get the nomination, or even if he doesn't, he will be seeking donations to get the "loans" paid back - even though the bulk of he money from the loans already went back to his companies.

If, in fact, that has been determined and considered genuine, constitutional law. Then personally I have no problem with backing the two as a team. LOL that was the original dream in the beginning of this up and down process. That NBC? was the main reason I switched off Cruz. If Donald agrees to the offer and he sees him as an attribute, then wonderful. Perhaps Cruz might grow into the position; dare I say? Along with Donald? :-)) Trust the big guy’s judgement and the two as a team could accomplish big things, which is what this country needs to survive.

That is what happens when you self-fund, you make a loan to the campaign. Nothing Illegal about it, check the FEC rules.

How about Hillary when she loaned her campaign about $25 Million in 2008?

I never said it was illegal - I just pointed out that he expects to raise the money to repay himself later, and he is accepting donations now - so he is not truly "self-funding".

Nelson Rockefeller tried to use “President of the Senate” to gain attention in 1975, but the much beloved Robert C. Byrd put him in his place quickly. Oddly, a decade later Byrd teamed up with Nelson’s nephew on one liberal measure after another as the two were WV senators.

AMEN!! This and anchor babies. Both must be set in stone. This country should not, could not endure another 8 years as we have had to endure the past 8. One reason Donald J. Trump is the choice for President. He has the ability to kick butt and make good his promises to catch the dirty rotten scoundrels which have bled our country dry of so much wealth, heritage, and tradition. Go!! TRiUMPh

Strange bedfellows are not uncommon. Waiting for the shoe to drop and in seeing who might get the extra pillows. To come together would entail a degree of effort - on the part of both. Could happen but at this time just shouting out the rumor and waiting for the 10:00 news. They’d best do it fast while they are on a roll. To wait might be the opportunity of a lifetime gone up in smoke. The concept, interesting and the dream of 9 months ago coming to fruition. Is this the dream seen today? possibly, too early to tell.

;-))
GO TRUMP!!

And how do you do that between now and the summer convention?

Trump doesn't seem to have any problem changing positions to fit the situation and circumstances. If it helps his campaign to say Cruz isn't an NBC and threaten to sue him, he'll do that. If making Cruz his running mate helps him at the convention he'll do that, too. It's all about making the deal.
