National Review, a once-venerable conservative publication, has officially gone off the rails entirely, publishing an article calling Sen. Jeff Sessions a prostitute for endorsing billionaire Donald Trump for the GOP presidential nomination.
That abominable attack on perhaps the most revered conservative in the U.S. Senate ran in a National Review piece arguing that anyone who endorses Trump is a rat that is scurrying and is also a sellout.

It is sad what it has been reduced to.
Got to give them credit though, they’re willing to kill the brand over their conviction.
And a conviction it is... (GUILTY!)
I’ve been watching them on FB for the entire election season. NR has become more and more unhinged by the day. This latest is not surprising.
I used to so look forward to their journal arriving in my mailbox, and they just lost their minds.
The National Enquirer will not be bankrupt in 12 mos.
Pray America wakes
I doubt that NR, being for open borders and all, has much love loss for Sessions anyway (so they’ve probably been looking for an excuse to trash him) but this is over the top. For me, a Cruz supporter even, it’s unacceptable to use such terminology to describe his endorsement of Trump.
It was disappointing to say the least he endorsed Trump, shocking really, but calling him names and ascribing cheap motives to the man isn’t going to get anything. It was a loss, period, that he endorsed Trump. A surprising let down but a loss that simply must be acknowledged as such and shouldn’t be explained away with easy invectives. It should be accepted as an adult accepts loss and moves on. He’s just as unimpeachable as Cruz, in terms of his conservatism and morals, to state anything less is sour grapes in the extreme.
Sad to see this.
Trump isn’t the first one to deal with illegal immigration. Many others including Cruz have been fighting this battle a long time. As I said Trump has been noiser and focused on it more. Trump makes deals. Cruz wouldn’t agree to phony amnesty deals and would just enforce the border and undo what Obama did. That would be better than any Trump “deal” IMO
Rich Lowery is a little fag.
The rest of it was pretty accurate.
It will then be a chorus of "we tried to warn you...."
I’ll take CRUZ’s record up against TRUMPS any day... neither are perfect, but CRUZ will nominate a true CONSERVATIVE to the SC.
Who sang that song as the nation was melting down in 2008?
N O B O D Y !
Who knows, maybe Trump will spend eight years in office, and we’ll have to spend trillions to bail the nation out, when he’s done.
Please remind us what our elected officials in Washington have done for us since January of 1989.
Tell me again how I need to vote for another Washington insider who lies.
NO!
That’s the way to do it! Call all the supporters you will absolutely need to get your rino in office a bunch of rats and sell outs.
The reason we’re voting for Trump is because we’re not selling out. I sold out n 2008 and again in 2012. Never again, you Nation Review rat bastards.
I wasn’t planning on voting today. But I went in and voted for Trump. There were at least 5 times as many republicans voting as there were democrats. I VOTED FOR TRUMP! That’s one more Texas vote that he didn’t know he was going to get.
I would love for Trump to win and announce that every day there will be a press secretary telling Americans what’s going on PLUS it will be on the internet.
“The press can go to the web page and get what they’re going to write for today. This way if they lie anyone can go back to the webpage and check for accuracy.”
This from the group that is pimping for the eGOP.
Whore mongerss with no moral compass
He told the NYT something different.
And you’ve heard the tape?
Please link me to that. Thanks in advance.
McCain decided he wanted to run a "positive" campaign, and so made a conscious choice not to point fingers regarding the financial collapse.
One of the dumbest political decisions I've ever seen.
I’d have to take that bill under advisement, because McCain has never done anything on the up and up in his life.
As for him laying down for Obama, he wanted to be part of history. Oh, you have nothing to fear from this guy...
That’s vintage McCain.
And unfortunately, National Review probably has a long life ahead of it in the era of Trump. All the Wall Street and Cheap Labor Express types need a forum to attack Trump and NR will gladly do that for the money. These people still think they are relevant in the social media era. Meanwhile, Trump is going to rule the country from Twitter and he will encourage new media to arrive that will counter the anti-revolutionary voices at NR. But these things will take time to materialize. You must admit, some of these guys have had quite a run, being pundits since the David Brinkley days. But a few good guys still contribute to their on-line edition such as Pat Buchanan. |
