Since the first GOP presidential debate last August, Fox News Channel seems to have lost its perception mojo with its core right-leaning audience.
By mid February, FNCs perception by Republican adults 18 and over had reached its lowest point in more than three years, and has declined by approximately 50% since January of this year.
Coinciding with Trumps rise to front-runner in the GOP presidential race, Fox News Channel has seen its perception by Republicans slide. In early August 2015, right after the first GOP debate aired on Fox News Channel,Trump went on a Twitter war with moderator Megyn Kelly, saying she bombed and calling her a lightweight reporter.
The picture hasnt been rosy in terms of the general population either: since last May, Fox News Channels perception levels with adults 18+ have uncharacteristically been drawing significantly more negative feedback than positive. At this point, both FNC and CNN are scoring at similar perception levels and they are both negative.
To measure perception of the two networks, YouGov BrandIndex used its Buzz score, which asks respondents: "If you've heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?" A score can range from 100 to -100 with a zero score equaling a neutral position.
On January 1, 2013, Fox News Channels Buzz score with Republican adults 18 and over was 49. By the first GOP debate last August, the score had dropped to 38. The downward momentum accelerated earlier this year when Fox News Channels score dropped from 36 on January 18th to 14 on February 12th. Trump declined to participate in FNCs sanctioned GOP debate on January 28th. Fox News Channels current Buzz score is 17.
Perhaps so. If it wasn’t introduced until the 90s, then I would have to have been wrong.
Thanks.
You would think too that Kelly caused a lot of uproar and was unprofessional that FOX would back away from having her do it again and yet they went out and basically slapped their viewers in the face.
Its more than that.
No it wasn’t. Megan Kelly quoted his words back at him, he admitted at the time on the debate floor that they were accurate,
*********
The problem is the others didn’t get treated that way. She’s inconsistent. That’s what irks people the most.
Fox plays favorites. imho
I agree. They seem to think she’s their flagship talking head now.
Not buying it.
Suicide by 1000 cuts...
Well so long as they keep the likes of her and others like Geraldo, Rove, Smith then I will not watch.
Also the constant , constant arguing over each other puts me off.
Sounds like they are melting down.
Sad...
Thanks for the mention.
Got to go now, but have a good weekend.
Yes, the femenazi dyke do fits her fine.
You too Manc. Thank you. I appreciate the thought.
That’s a good name for it...
“Fox makes MSNBC look fair and balanced.”
Just finished watching Trump at an airport hanger in Arkansas, a good speech, but Leland Vitters, and whoever the female friend was, I swear I thought both of them were going urinate all over themselves from glee.....”Oh trump had a meandering speech, Rubio is really getting to Trump, and on and on, and on. etc. “ I think that Fox News should change their call letters to ....MSNBC-LIGHT.
Just about all of them are so anti-republican, and especially anti-Trump that it isn’t funny. Disgusting really.
maybe the others were treated that way because they didn’t talk that way about women
Cavuto is just as bad over on the Faux Business News channel.
I used to watch FOX all the time. It is now unwatchable. Just a parade of people trying to thwart the will of the citizens. This is no longer news, it is propaganda.
Disappointing that one
Yeah—they are all falling—lots of pressure from Murdock and the open borders gang I am guessing.
Agree...strangely I have found CNN and MSNBC to be more unbiased than Fox. No Fox in this household anymore.
He talked over Megyn and pointed out that he didn't hate all women, but he had dissed Rosie O'Donnell.
This was a masterful re-framing of the question, since there are very few people in general, and still fewer watching that debate, who would tend to favor Rosie over Trump.
Hence he stuffed it up Meygn's ass on national TV.
For the GOP base, who have been putting up with morons like McCuckold and Romney, bending over in advance, and cowering for Candy Crowley when she openly sided with Obama in what was clearly collusion (and the contrast to the Dem debates, where candidates are LITERALLY asked fawning softball questions like "who was your favorite President)...this was a breath of fresh air.
Also, the fact that Megyn clearly had the hots for Trump, and had to take a "vacation" afterward to deal with being shot down by an alpha male, was icing on the cake.
C'mon, I know you still pine for Cruz, but for you to ignore the open media bias, just to have the semblance of cover for lamenting Trump, is NOT typical of your intellect and verve as demonstrated in the past.
And after your choice of avatar: and your response when I first wrote to you about that, and reflected by your "about" page, shows you are not mired in PC.
Take a step back and reflect. There are many valid warnings and/or criticisms of Trump: but this looks too much like Dem-lite MSM fanboy behaviour.
BTW -- Meygn still isn't going to date you after you've rushed to her defense, OK? ;-)
The Fabulous Murdoch Boys at work. Taking Faux News from the penthouse to the outhouse.
Bair, Wallace and Kelly, (maybe with access to Roger Ailes’ sleeping quarters???). All four thought they were smart attacking “Sir” Donald Trump, stepped deep in the cow pasture, in my former country called Spinat and it backfired, rightfully so, and they see the result of viewer migration !!!
