In August of 2015, against considerable backlash, we stood firm on a fundamental position that Senator Ted Cruz did not have a pathway, a roadmap, to victory in the 2016 GOP presidential primary.
Despite the fundamentally sound reasoning for our prediction, which was entirely based on congressional district by district analytics, our position drew an immense amount of criticism and even a quick response from the Cruz campaign itself (Brian Phillips).
Unfortunately, tonight’s South Carolina results vindicate a massive amount of historical research. There simply is no pathway to victory when you rely almost exclusively on “proselytizing as an electoral strategy“:

It’s not personal, it is simply a factual reality. The Ted Cruz Road Map is non-existent; and beyond the SEC primary states there is little to no organization at all. Nothing in the state of Florida. The campaign is NOT what most people have been led to believe it is.
We strongly urge people to do their own research and to connect their own dots. The campaign will NOT stop sending you donation requests, that much is certain.
Even if the R's bungle the Scalia replacement, I can't see Ginsberg hanging on to her seat for much longer, especially now that her dearest friend and co-worker has died.
It is an easier case to make that Cruz is for Cruz, than that Cruz is for GOPe.
If Cruz were a phoney conservative like Tom DeLay or Ralph Reed, then why is he running for President? Why doesn't he stay put, like DeLay did, in his safe congressional seat?
Maybe this is just an elaborate way for him to get money from rubes, but it is money for Cruz, and not money for the GOPe.
In the end it might turn out that Cruz is the reason why the GOPe candidate Rubio doesn't outperform Trump.
Imagine that: a candidate like Cruz who is 90% behind the Tea Party line prevents GOPe Rubio from getting ahead of Trump.
How ironic.
He can't, unless he's got someone lined up who can do a better job, but even with that, firing the CM shows that the candidacy is in big trouble.
I think he's stuck with him, and with Rick Wilson, too.
The most awful mismanaged campaign in recent memory.
Terrible.
that’s it!
You wont have Mark ###### To Pick On Anymore!!
If it was good enough for Nixon, it’s good enough for me :)
enjoy the win buddy
According to him he “made history” tonight. For such an honest guy, I wish he’d speak honestly.
Agreed - Texas is his firewall.
With that said not winning A SINGLE county in SC is a VERY bad sign for Ted...
I donate enough monthly :)
FR, the vets and my cousin’s illness.
equal treatment each month.
I save the difference by not seeing a shrink because I like being crazy anyway :)
have a good night man.
Trump had no hired pollster. So no internal polling. His campaign is very lean and smart.
Ted has a lot of, well, let's say "billable hours" invested at this point. If the GOPe offers a settlement, he'll declare victory, tell his "clients" how wonderful it is that the GOPe is starting to come around, and work hard to rationalize whatever Rubio has to say on any topic.
“The most awful mismanaged campaign in recent memory.

It seems so antiquated as well. Like the dirty tricks of the 1990s. Old, surplus junk.
It’s hard to figure this out.
They contract it. I know some of the contractors, not trumps but they all know who is doing work for who.
There is no overstating the abject disaster of South Carolina for Ted Cruz. I only pray he does not back the GOPe when the time comes, or we are all doomed behind nominee Rubio, and the Clinton II Era.
Jeff Roe has a state of the art data team but his dirty tricks are so LAME and old school as you pointed out.
Sometimes it seems the Cruz campaign is playing Chess with Trump, and other times it seems they’re back playing checkers with the idiot pack.
Jeb’s out, you need a redo. 8^)
He has a safe senate seat in Texas, at least until the illegals and Austinites swamp the Republican faithful vote.
If he continues along with his "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" schtick then he has a future.
If he caves, then he is toast. He is smart enough to know that.
