Cruz is a lawyer. I've never known a lawyer to turn down a settlement that got them 3/4 of what they wanted when the alternative was nothing to show for their effort.

Ted has a lot of, well, let's say "billable hours" invested at this point. If the GOPe offers a settlement, he'll declare victory, tell his "clients" how wonderful it is that the GOPe is starting to come around, and work hard to rationalize whatever Rubio has to say on any topic.

Cruz only has a future if he remains Cruz. He has to continue to lambaste the GOPe for their caving in on all things Obama.

He has a safe senate seat in Texas, at least until the illegals and Austinites swamp the Republican faithful vote.

If he continues along with his "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" schtick then he has a future.

If he caves, then he is toast. He is smart enough to know that.

If at some point Trump sees the absolute need to have Cruz as VP he can bring that about!

Trump can offer 100% of what Cruz wants, he can absolutely promise Cruz that if they win he will soon become the president.

All Trump would have to do is resign the office a bit early :-)

How's that for an offer you can't refuse?
