"We discovered the judge in bed, a pillow over his head. His bed clothes were unwrinkled," said Poindexter.
"He was lying very restfully. It looked like he had not quite awakened from a nap," he said. Scalia,79, did not have a pulse and his body was cold, and after consulting with a doctor at a hospital in Alpine, Poindexter concluded resuscitation would have been futile, He then contacted federal authorities, at first encountering a series of answering services because he was calling on a weekend.

Probable just doesn’t cut it when it’s a key supreme court justice. And no autopsy - incredible!
He is not THAT John Poindexter. Take a look at his photo in the referenced news article. Very different looking man.

The pillow quote is too bizarre. I guess we now have precedent so that when any high-ranking member of the Federal govt dies, no autopsy should be done.
save, book mark
Judge Guevara talked to Scalia’s doctor.

For God's sake, it's no time to quibble.
“Where was his protection?”
This keeps getting more interesting. I wonder if it’s common for a Justice to be without a security detail. The list of who the 3 dozen other guests were would certain be interesting to see. It’s getting late to do so, because the impressions degrade, but looking for a few sets of prints leading to the ranch facilities in the surrounding area would be an excellent way to determine if an investigation is warranted.
John B. Poindexter was a Colonel in the Army. He owned the ranch.
you, sir, are a sick man :)
It is. But...one other thing I thought of based on the description of the scene;
Hands folded on chest, no wrinkling of the bed clothes...
It is also a possibility that Justice Scalia took his own life. Had a fun filled day, retired to his room...ingested something that would present as a heart attack and laid down on his bed and waited.
We'll never know. I'm only saying...based on the description of the scene...it's possible. Unlikely, but possible.
“In a statement Sunday, the U.S. Marshals Service, which provides security for Supreme Court justices, said that Scalia had declined a security detail while at the ranch, so marshals were not present when he died. âDeputy U.S. Marshals from the Western District of Texas responded immediately upon notification of Justice Scaliaâs passing,â the statement said.”
One wonders if the govt. IS trying to gaslight us?
They are doing a splendid job, no?

I sleep under the car in the garage.
I do too
Wrong John Poindexter. Not the one from the Reagan & Bush administration:

"THERE IS SIMPLY NO OTHER PLACE TO BEGIN. John Poindexter, Houston-born multimillionaire owner of exclusive Big Bend resort Cibolo Creek Ranch, is one stiff dude."
My thoughts exactly...was Hillary Clinton around?
I just asked if he killed himself on another thread not thinking that was the case.
But yeah, he could have had cancer.
