Republicans set a new turnout record Tuesday in New Hampshireâs primary, attracting more than a quarter of a million voters to the polls and offering evidence that most of the energy in the 2016 presidential race continues to be on the GOP side.
Democrats saw a strong turnout, but their two-person race couldnât recapture the magic of the 2008 battle between Hillary Clinton and then-candidate Barack Obama â a race that presaged Mr. Obamaâs eventual cruise to victory in November.

Ash trays flying
Trump has now surpassed the Romney’s 2012 NH votes, and McCain’s 2008 by over 10K. The NH votes are still being counted where Trump will likely break 100,000.
yep....teamobama must be as i type this thinking of more ways to get more illegal/invaders/permanent dem voters into country.
The democrat turnout gave Bernie 60% of the vote, but Hillary was awarded 15 delegates to Bernie’s 13.
Why would a dumbocrat bother voting?
“Trump has now surpassed the Romneyâs 2012 NH votes,”
That is not how Rush reported it. He used percentages. Hahaha
Trump’s touchback amnesty is a democrat issue.
It’s a guarantee to get the democrat party as the majority party in perpetuity.
If you can’t get a democrat elected to push your agenda get a republican elected that will advance your agenda.
What part of that is too complicated for Trumpsters to understand?
Yeah I know ;-)
More candidates are running to dilute the percentage.
Trump appears to be motivating the folks who stayed home in prior elections.
Naw,they’ll just crank up the dead vote in the general election.

No surprise. These are exciting times for Repubs. No more Mitt McCainiacs to bore us to death. Go Ted! Go Donald!
Meanwhile - the democrats have two nursing home candidates who make even Joe Biden look like a better choice.
Ha, Bernie’s victory speech mentioned that republicans only win when voter turnout is low
He is an idiot icon for the so-called millenials ...
the ones whose paychecks he plans to confiscate for the next 50 years
And considering that the dem voters usually outnumber the GOP it is especially encouraging
I hope the "feel the bern" morons are now getting a clue as to how government control works
Bernie didn’t get Obama turnout? But but but the college kids love him.
How much of that record turnout was due to Dems voting in the Republican primary?
Rush should wake up and pay attention to these numbers. His math has been way off this morning.
ping!
That’s what happens when we’ve to deal with 8 years of crap.
You seem to be forgetting that a number of Democrats crossed over to vote GOP. The only way to know if this is good news for GOP in NH is to compare totals with earlier years. Regarding the odd appearance that Hillary got more delegates than Bernie, it is because of “Super Delegates” who are long term party activists. Hillary has been building for years, Bernie for a year. Three% of the vote has still not been counted.
