If the New Hampshire office of the pro-Ben Carson super PAC 2016 Committee felt a little empty Monday, that’s because everybody quit—and joined Ted Cruz’s campaign.
WMUR reported Monday that all five paid New Hampshire staffers for the pro-Carson super PAC resigned Sunday to become volunteers for Cruz, the Texas senator, who they feel is the most electable conservative.
“We hold Dr. Carson in the highest regard,” the group’s spokesperson, Jerry Sickles, told WMUR. “This is a man we revere, but we think it is important that our party nominate a conservative and get behind a single conservative who can win, and we strongly believe that candidate is Ted Cruz.”
The announcement came the same day that Sam Pimm, the former national head of 2016 Committee—which has raised more than $3.8 million and spent nearly $900,000 in support of Carson—said he decided to switch his support to Cruz, according to Politico, citing electability concerns about Carson. Pimm said he left the super PAC earlier in the fall.
High-profile defections are becoming quite the trend for the Carson campaign.
The retired neurosurgeon’s campaign manager and communications director were among at least five Carson staffers who quit the campaign December 31.
The once-surging, outsider Republican candidate has seen his poll numbers free-fall, both nationally and in early-voting states, since early November.

Put up just hours ago, in this longish (14 minute) TRIFECTA, these three guys pretty much echo my thoughts and rantings of the last few months.
We are in the midst of one of the most revolutionary elections in our lifetime. It could go either way. How it DOES go largely depends on how informed YOU and those around you become between now and November!
In the interests of “diversity”, there’s something in this one to delight or anger everyone.
EITHER WAY, THIS ELECTION WILL START A REVOLUTION!

It’s the truth.
I’m tired of FReepers damning Cruz. They need to understand that if they do, they are opposing Jim Robinson. And maybe they should leave the site he founded.
Because it’s ... TRUE.
And some Trumpbots forget that the founder of FR prefers Cruz over Trump.
That was a person attack?? I will wonder about individuals who leave a cause they are supposedly dedicated to, for the opponent, any day, any situation.
This is impossible because Cruz lied about Carson and stole Iowa.
Or something.
Date is up there right under the headline
The way i read Jim’s post was that Cruz was his first choice due to Cruz support for the Constitution but he would gladly support Trump if he was the nominee.
He likes both. But he *prefers* Cruz over Trump.
It’s simple. Just review his comment history.
(If you trash Cruz, you are in essence trashing the founder of Free Republic.)
I'm a Cruz supporter, but unless you've received clearance from Jim Robinson to speak for him, don't. And, it's common courtesy to ping someone when you do mention them.
I’m looking for the “satire”... where is it?
You’re free to criticize Cruz. But critique him on the facts, not on foolish birther talk or corruption talk. Do you think Jim Robinson would support a corrupt Canadian? If you do, then you think Jim is a fool.
Review Jim’s comment history. He likes both candidates. He’s said that he prefers Cruz. I’m not “outing” anyone, or saying anything he hasn’t already said.
Typical of supporters of a candidate that lies and intimidates.
So it turns out that Cruz’ operatives in Iowa weren’t that far off the mark.
“Date is up there right under the headline”
That’s right. January 11, 2016.
That means it is NOT breaking news.
It’s fine to post it if the person who started the thread wanted to. But it is NOT breaking news, and misleading to treat it as such.
Methinks you took the spirit of his early morning post today by him in error. If I am wrong about Cruz or Trump as viable I will stand corrected or sanctioned if that’s the way it works out. One or the other, I will take either to stop these people.
This was mentioned by Glenn Beck on last night’s Megan Kelly show...
