Sarah Palin: ‘Wasn’t Hard’ To Choose Between Donald Trump And Ted Cruz

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin joined the Today show to talk about her endorsement of Donald Trump as Iowans go to caucus tonight for the Republican presidential primary.

Host Matt Lauer suggested that perhaps Donald Trump wasn’t enough of a true conservative, citing his Democratic record.

Palin referred to Ronald Reagan, pointing out that she was “glad” that Donald Trump was a candidate that had “seen the light.”

Later in the show, Palin was asked by co-host Willie Geist about what she brought to Donald Trump’s campaign by endorsing him.

I’m very, very conservative, very much a right-winger, proudly clinging to my God, my guns and my Constitution, she said. “I think I speak for a lot of Americans who have those same values.”

Did anybody else read the article that Palin was paid 10 million dollars by Trump for her endorsement? And that she was going to use the money on a 5,000 acre hunting ranch she was building in Alaska. I haven’t seen mention of it again so figured it was probably false.

I doubt it is about the money. Palin wants to be a political player but keeps being brushed by the leadership. Plus Trump, whatever his politics, is an alpha male, and she has always liked guys like that.

That's really harsh and unfair. Sarah is the ONLY Republican female politician on the national stage who actually espouses Constitutional Conservative principles,

Palin's endorsement came after lots of Trump supporters were really harsh with personal comments about Bristol after she defended her mom, and then coming verbally after her PTSD son after that situation with the law.

Mama Bear then defended her cubs by endorsing Trump, showing up at rallies for one day, then leaving the campaign trail. She's back now for the Iowa caucus.

Maybe it's just another case (as with Shamegate) of Cruz's staff being way too aggressive and Cruz not having the judgement to know when to rein them in.

If you think that Ted Cruz as President would be his greatest use, you have missed Sarah’s point.

On the other hand, Trump would not be useful anywhere other than President. Different skill set.

Trump uses the bully pulpit, Ted gets the legislation through because of megaphone used by Trump. Its a good plan. Would not work in reverse.

Sarah is friends with both Ted Cruz AND Trump, this is a hotly contested race and it will start to be decided today.

I think Ted Cruz would be a great president, However I do enjoy the fact that he has made life Hell for the Progs in the Senate.

This is politics and everyone single one of us won't come to the same conclusion as everyone else, The Democrats do, but we don't. I think that is a good thing.

Well, let's face it, we don't know when she set up her personal account. Mine was set up long ago, and has the same ease of being hacked. I haven't reset ever, so I can understand that way back in 2008.

I can't believe I have to actually explain this. You simply, either, select different personal questions (ones where the answers aren't known or can be easily figured out), or you don't put people's actual/true names down, but rather just about anything else, even a random set of keyboard characters. Yahoo doesn't care if the answers are true or not. Then jot it down somewhere so you'll have it if ever needed.

I don’t think that’s exactly correct. Reagan admitted that he had been a strong New Deal liberal, but he never seems to have been a true leftist. That’s a big difference, IMO.

Anyway, Reagan was still an old-fashioned union-loving liberal during the 1950’s when he started making speeches for General Electric. But over the course of eight or so years, he read and studied deeply about the issues of the day. In the course of this self-educational endeavor, he gradually changed his opinions — just as did a lot of others, myself included.

The outcome was that by 1962, Reagan had become a deeply committed conservative, with a profound intellectual understanding of the relevant issues. He also was a masterful writer, as can be seen from the collection of his newspaper columns. Moreover, he composed the material himself, not like Trump and others, with the aid of ghost writers.

Bottom Line:

Any attempt to equate Reagan’s sincere and profound turn-around with Trump’s “foxhole conversion” would be laughable if it weren’t so disgusting.

You can’t buy a parcel of private land up here anywhere close to that size unless it was a purchase from a Native Corporation.
