Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin joined the Today show to talk about her endorsement of Donald Trump as Iowans go to caucus tonight for the Republican presidential primary.
is was probably a tough call for you, between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% and Donald Trump, began Savannah Guthrie during the interview.
t wasnât tough,â Palin interrupted.
Really, Guthrie replied.
No, it wasnât tough, she repeated.
Palin explained that she was happy to endorse Ted Cruz in his Senate race, because he was a fighter for the American people but that she wanted him to stay in Washington D.C.
want to keep him in the Senate, and I want Donald Trump to be our president, she said.
Guthrie asked Palin if Trump was necessarily âthe godly candidateâ for evangelical voters.
I hope voters arenât trying to find the most Christian-y godliest candidate out there because who are we to judge one anotherâs level of faith â our Christian quotient if you will, she said.
Host Matt Lauer suggested that perhaps Donald Trump wasnât enough of a true conservative, citing his Democratic record.
Palin referred to Ronald Reagan, pointing out that she was âgladâ that Donald Trump was a candidate that had âseen the light.â
Later in the show, Palin was asked by co-host Willie Geist about what she brought to Donald Trumpâs campaign by endorsing him.
Iâm very, very conservative, very much a right-winger, proudly clinging to my God, my guns and my Constitution, she said. âI think I speak for a lot of Americans who have those same values.â

That’s exactly EXACTLY what I thought.
It’s never hard to choose when you’re riding coattails.
Cruz was my second choice but I am too wary of things he tried to hide or twist and his decision on things like the shame letter. Trump has never presented himself as above reproach and borderline perfect but just as a man who loves America and wants it to be great. I feel Cruz comes across as if he feels he doesn’t have foibles.
It makes me very sad to think that if he is the nominee I will have to hold my nose and vote for him instead of doing it with pride.
None of your business and yes Sarah Palin sold out, period. Donald Trump is no conservative, he is a rich blowhard.
I think she’s saying we still need Cruz as Senator. Trump as POTUS would be an ADDITION of a fighter into the system, whereas Cruz as POTUS would be a shifting of one fighter into a different fighting position.
Your decision, I suppose, would be based on how you would arrange the chess pieces to best serve your country and/or your family.
Good luck. I’m still undecided. I like Cruz for governance but like Trump for exposing the coup of 2008 so the Republic can be restored.
I suspect, however, that Obama is going to get the Iranians to do an EMP attack on us in November or December when Obama is in the southern hemisphere yukking it up with his communist buddies (such as the communists in Venezuela who allowed Hamas and Hezbollah agents to be flown from Iran to Venezuela in unchecked flights - and who, IIRC, promised Ahmadinejad a base from which to launch missiles if he wanted to attack the US...). Such an attack may have been the plan way back in July of 2008 when Obama said he would be POTUS for “the next 8-10 years”. The aftermath of this kind of attack would be chaos, and the newly-elected POTUS would not be inaugurated.
If you have access to either or both Presidential hopefuls, you might want to suggest that they focus on North Korea and Iran having nukes and the ability to deliver them via the hole in our southern radar defense - because even if either of them wins they can never be inaugurated if Obama’s 7 years of arming, funding, training, defending, and giving complete access to our communist and Islamist enemies was all part of a successful plan to keep a patriot from ever taking office before the USA is dismantled and given to those enemies.
...that wouldn't be the candidate I'm endorsing.
that’s not a small difference.
Did anybody else read the article that Palin was paid 10 million dollars by Trump for her endorsement? And that she was going to use the money on a 5,000 acre hunting ranch she was building in Alaska. I haven’t seen mention of it again so figured it was probably false.
Well, let’s face it, we don’t know when she set up her personal account. Mine was set up long ago, and has the same ease of being hacked. I haven’t reset ever, so I can understand that way back in 2008.
Something about Criuz being arrogant.
Palin, God bless her, has been known to make an occasional error in judgement. Recall that episode with her private Yahoo mail account, where she ridiculously selected for her âpersonal questionsâ for retrieving a lost password, something like âWhat is the name of your spouse?â, and some other equally foolish thing that anybody could easily find out, if they hadnât known already. Basically, all a hacker needed to do to gain access to her private account was pretend they were her, which anyone who knew her Yahoo e-mail address could do, request a password change, and answer those ridiculously simple personal questions.

uh, excuse me, but what people have been known to do in such situations is put as their answer a not spouse name or noun or something.
i’m sorry for your lapse of judgment jn posting this as a reason for ... what exactly was your reason.
Typical of a Cruz supporter to throw out scurrilous allegations with no proof. I hope Trump beats him all the way back to Canada.
She is losing her star power and is looking for a towboat to pull her to new fishing grounds. Her PAC is nearly broke its donations have dried up, lost her FOX gig as well as her reality show. She needs another jump start like McCain gave her.
You are irrelevant, Palin.
I wonder how we get their subordinates to see this suggestion. There’s an awful lot of venom and politics to wade through here.
One “reality” TV personality goes for another “reality” TV personality. Nothing complicated. Just a reflection of the depths into which American popular culture has sunk.
