CNN's Drew Griffin investigates Ted Cruz's eligibility.
Video ran on Anderson Cooper 360.

Wouldn’t be an issue if he was a suck-up to the ethanol cartel, or better yet, ambiguous on abortion and the homosexual agenda.
The admirial's son is a naturalized US citizen.
<><> Cruz told Levin he used the Wall Street loans for the campaign/s TV ads......but these loans have never been reported as campaign related. Cruz does not need FEC permission to fully disclose the info. What is he hiding?
<><> In January 2016, the New York Times reported that Cruz and his wife had taken out low-interest loans from Goldman Sachs (her employer) and Citibank, and failed to report the nearly $1 million in loans on Federal Election Commission disclosure statements as required by law.[97] Cruz disclosed the loans on his Senate financial disclosure forms in July 2012, but not on the Federal Election Commission form.[98]
<><> The Wall Street loans were largely repaid by later campaign fundraising.....But a Cruz spox recently said no donors paid off the loans.
<><> A spokesperson for Cruz said his failure to report the loans to the FEC was "inadvertent" and said he would be filing supplementary paperwork.[97] (hat tip WIKI)
<><> During his 2012 Senate campaign, Time magazine reported on a potential violation of ethics rules; Senate candidate Cruz failed to publicly disclose his financial relationship with Caribbean Equity Partners Investment Holdings. Typically, Cruz called his failure to disclose these connections an "inadvertent" omission.[96] (hat tip WIKI)
Barry was not automatically an English Subject. The English law is clear at that time. His father did not legally marry his mother and so no citizenship. Look at the law.
Then Trump isn’t eligible either.
Maybe it wouldn’t be an issue for those on the left if he gave those views, but it would definitely be an issue for me. It goes to character at the way he has pretended it is not an issue. The loans are not an issue. The Jamaican holding company is not an issue, the Canadian dual citizenship is not an issue, etc.
McCain at least had Congress issue a statement that he was eligible to be President. And I have no problem with McCain’s birth, since his father was serving in the military. My beef with McCain is that he made videos for North Vietnam & then lied about it, the Forrestal incident, the absolutely shameful way he treated the POW families.
Cruz supposedly had his records sealed. What is he hiding? And is there something in them where he can be blackmailed like his friend, Justice Roberts. We don’t need this cloud hanging over the Presidency.
Here’s my last debate tracking of Cruz eligibility ...
Yosemitest FOR eligibility ....

Lively back-and-forth followed.
I’m no longer tracking it. Looks settled.
He might win in court, very likely. But too many originalist interpretations would define him as ineligible. Will never be a slam-dunk answer to vindicate Cruz.
neither cruz or rubio is a natural born citizen.
A natural born citizen is one who was born in the USA by parents of which at least one was a legal Citizen of the United States of America at the time of his or her birth.
That is why the party of the democrat fought so hard to perpetrate the lie that obama was born in Hawaiia.
Cruz has admitted that he was born in Canada, rubio while born in the US, neither parent was a US Citizen till he was two years old.
Uups ... I mean’t to ping you too to post 27.
The most germane theory I have seen is one Cboldt brought up. The US citizenship of Cruz is based on an act of Congress and therefore in principle could be rescinded by same (and in another analogous test case, was).
This is the thing that matters in the end.
Sweden could pass a law saying all people born in Minnesota get Swedish citizenship too, and it wouldn’t change the NBC eligibility of Minnesotans. It’s not who else claims you; it’s how the US claims you. If not even Congress could change that claim, then you are NBC fair and square.
Cruz is more than welcome to swim against this tide. But throwing support to Trump with some kind of quid pro quo agreement would seem to be the wisest move, to me.
Yosemitest is a kook. He's not alone.
Ah, what would FR be without kooks to keep it on its toes!
An echo chamber gets pretty boring.
Their main argument on behalf of Cruz is 14th Amendment. Courts might agree, but not original intent ...

FRegards ....
“What if your parents are United States Ambassadors living in the other country when you are born?”
Diplomatic immunity shields the child from being subject by birth in a foreign sovereign’s jurisdiction to an obligation of allegiance to the foreign sovereign. So long as both parents have only one undivided allegiance to the sovereign United States, the child born under diplomatic immunity is also born with an undivided allegiance to only the United States and is thereby a natural born citizen.
“What if your father is an admiral in the Navy when you are born in a Panama hospital?”
John McCain was born in a hospital in Colon, Panama. He was not born in the U.S. Panama Canal Zone. It makes no difference whether John McCain was born in the U.S. Panama Canal Zone, Panama, or any other place abroad and outside the jurisdiction of the United States; because any such person alien born abroad, with or without a U.S. citizen parent or citizen parents, can acquire U.S. citizenship only by naturalization at birth or after birth. Such naturalized U.S. citizens are not natural born citizens and are not eligible to be President. Likewise, Ted Cruz was born abroad with Canadian citizenship, and he acquired U.S. citizenship by naturalization at birth by the authority of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952.
He’s smart though. You need someone smart to offer a decent counter-point.
Not saying you’re smart, but ...
Guess I am.
[Grin.]
Dear Mr. Y’s approach is one of “throw hunks of the bible in the blender to come up with something to feed the ego.”
Harrumph, America is a divine covenant land, goes the unspoken premise. Therefore we get to drag in the Old Testament (at pleasure too, not even with the bother and trouble of having to apply the ENTIRE THING).
Well it ain’t a divine covenant land and the bible isn’t a cafeteria either. America was a happy historical beneficiary of Christian faith. No amount of theological hand waving can change that.
Remember, you birthers are the same IQ-challenged illiterates who helped elect Obama in 2012.
In 2012, people observed your nutjob conspiracy theories regarding Obama - then assumed that Republicans in general were as dumb as you are - and then in consequence either stayed home on election day or voted for the Dems.
Now you’re doing the same thing for Trump that you did for the 2012 Republican nominee. Primary and caucus voters will observe that a great many Trumpers are effectively ‘tarded, then conclude that they don’t want anything to do with these people, and thus adopt an “anyone but Trump” voting strategy.
So keep it up.
You also need good premises, otherwise you just get clever garbage.
The media sets up a circular firing squad for Republicans to viciously destroy each other while downplaying any controversy between Democrat candidates.
No prominent republican candidate attacked Obama for the SAME failing as the Republicans are now attacking Cruz.
Perhaps Republicans are just too damn stupid to win the big prize.
You may now resume your idiotic, self-destructive crusade to elect Hillary.
